Thanks Eggs! Not bad for the first time out, just need to swap out the torque converter for a higher stall so I can hold the line and not leave from idle. My best ET was 13.90 with mph's over 100. My last pass I pushed through the light with a 14.36 @102 mph. Guess I'm a little rusty. Hard to believe the last time I raced was BPG 2006 Nats in Salem in the BBB. THe last time I had a Turbo buick to the track was BPG 2005 Nats. My T was wrecked a week later. It was three years to the date yesterday. Feels good to be back.

Way to go Dave!:beer My Regal is actually running again. Its been reduced to a stock 72 sbc and a saginaw three speed, but at least I can move it again. Looks better than its been looking:Dou:

Hey, I did this yesterday. I didn't get the entire fender off, there is one more screw at the bottom of the door hinge opening that I couldn't get to but I got everything else off and wedged it open enough to pull out the defunct power antenna.

I was wondering where you got the replacement power antenna.

    I found one @ http://www.oldbuickparts.com/commerce/product_info.php?cPath=1_17&products_id=370
    But its $165 !!
    I can't afford that

Typically you don't need the entire assembly. I've had two cars with power antennas and both needed just the cable kit. Usually when you buy these cars the power antenna is already busted and the power antenna is unplugged because the motor runs continuously. If you motor is still good, just get the cable kit from Cars. I bought one of my cable kits from the dealer (back in '01) and the other from Cars just a couple of years ago. I think they were around $35.

    check...
I already got the cable kit. In fact its under my right forearm as I type this, it was $20.50 a couple years ago. I have been planning to do this for some time.
But now since I got the whole thing already out, and I had to cut my mast because it was stuck in the extended position, and because it was so much trouble getting it off, I'm thinking that I might as well replace the entire thing. Follow me?

I already cut my mast off :Dou:
Also, right before I took the screw out that was holding the assembly in place, I unplugged it from the harness and tested the contacts w/ a lead tester. The light didn't come on. So I don't know, it may not have been getting power. Note that it once worked fine, and one day I was working on something in my dash behind the glove box and it stopped working.
