BTW, the guages are just junky sunpro's at the moment. When I get the GOOD motor in I'll put my VDO boost guage in and buy the good stuff. Probably going to be electric AutoMeter's. I'll go to one pod for just boost and move water temp and oil pressure down below. I will also install my digital dash unit from the T-type when I change out the dash harness.
I cleaned up my gas tank from the turbo regal. I didn't attempt to even try to get the dents out of it. It looks like the previous owners took the car to an exhaust shop to replace a muffler and tail pipes and the exhaust shop just dented the tank to make it fit. I painted it hammered silver. I did make a mistake by cutting my rubber fuel lines as I am finding it hard to find these formed fuel lines any suggestions?
I'm waiting on my headers, intake manifold, plenum, and valve covers that are at the powder coater. I've got a little down time involved, so I picked up something to keep me occupied in the interim!
Whoa, Davey! You've got a monopoly going on these G-bodies! Nice find! :TU: What are the specs? Stock? Where'd you pick it up?
I'm not certain I have a monopoly yet, but I'm working on it! This one is a bone stock WE4 that I bought from the original owner. 77K miles :Brow:
Back to the Project turbo blue build. I installed these fine specimens that I bought from Rick & Kristi at BPG Nats.
Here's a pic prior to the installation, that's why I'm still smiling. Its 1000 times easier to change out control arms if you have someone to just operate the jack!
You want to know why so many Regals have broken power antennas? This is why, you've got to take the whole fender off to get to it!
Its been a long time since I've made any progress......well good news, the dash, motor, and tranny are out, fuel tank is swapped and the non AC box is installed.
Wired and ready for the motor! The off-white turbo hood doesn't do her any justice. I may have to throw the flat hood back on.
Notice the simplified heater controls and in the second pic my modified defroster ducting. I missed a piece of ductwork in the El Camino at the yard so I had to improvise. I ran a 3' piece of pool sweeper hose and a short piece of dryer hose to make up for my missing piece.
Looks like my kind of fun!!! Good Job! I hope you labeled all of those parts so you know where they go to.LOL Anyway, enjoy :TU:
I kind of laid off a little bit with the progress reports as I've hit into some of the hardcore turbo stuff. I don't want to cross up the forum too much. Here is a couple of my most recent pics.
Dang right! When I get it running, that would be reason enough for beers down on Carson Street. ..............we could be drinking beer right now, if it wasn't for a tweaked passenger side header.
