On May 28th my Stepdaughter Nicole will be undergoing a Dorsal Rhysotomy. She was Born with Cerebral Paulsy and with this surgery will hopefully be able to improve her Quality of life. She will be at Children's Hospital in St Paul for about 8 Weeks while she undergoes the operation and therapy. The surgery takes about 4-6 hours while they open her spinal column and sever the abnormal behaving nerves to her legs. This is a very stressfull time for our family and will also be tight financially as my wife will cut back at work to be with Nicole. After the 28th I will have limited access to the board while we are with her. Please keep her in your prayers while she is there, I know God will be with her and us. Thanks
Thoughts and Prayers Chris, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope the surgery is a success. I know how stressfully this can be. I had to have both hips replaced 2 years ago when I was 35. Stay strong and believe.

Dale - If I remember right, Chris's daughter is 8 years old. Chris - You know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Often we question "why" about things that happen....especially to children.....been there, done that. But I've seen personally a miracle happen to someone very close to me......wasn't supposed to make it to age 12....she's now 30, married, kids of her own. No one knows HIS plan, but there is power in prayer! Also know that you've got "family" on this board, and certainly here in Minnesota......call on us if you need anything......we will be there any way we can.

UPDATE!! Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayer's!!!:TU: Nicole is doing great after a rough few days. Surgery took five hours and she was very brave. She now has six weeks of intense physical therapy while she learns to walk again. The only thing she has complained about was the crappy food at the hospital so we have been smuggling in McDonalds for her. One thing I have learned over the last week is how lucky we are to have as good as we do. I have seen so many family's at Children's Hospital who's kids are enduring much worse things than us. I will never take life for granted again for anything. It's so easy to get caught up in everyday life and lose focus on what is really important. God has his way's of teaching us and I just went to school big time:TU: Thanks again everyone
