I would like to Thank Dave Ray for his excellent service in dealing with a customer from Australia. I bought a Core Dizzy on ebay and had it shipped direct to Dave in the US sight unseen.
I was kept well informed and received a very nice, fully reco'd Nailhead HEI Conversion. I wasn't fed any cr@p about how bad the unit I sent was ( which was in very good condition), and he was keen to assist in any way he could.

PS also thanks to Txgwildcat who sold me the dizzy and
    posted it direct to Dave.

    Regards
    Kevin

Ditto on the previous praise for Dave Ray!
Dave made a $5 junky-core dizzy into a billet MSD look-a-like, converted it to MSD pickup and added the Crane adjustable vacuum advance... for an unbelievable price.
Dave is and does "First Class" work.
    Thanks Dave.

Does anyone know if Dave is OK and still in business? I was communicating with him pretty regularly, sent him my distributor and payment back at the beginning of April and he hasn't returned a phone call or email since...just getting concerned...

Last I heard, the Buickthunder board was the place to find him.

I had a hard time getting ahold of him also. After a failure to get an email reply I ended up putting Pertronix in. Maybe I'll try an HEI conversion at a later date.

Wish I would have known that option before I bought the Pertronix! I know that an HEI is a way better option.
Well, maybe I'll be tearing down the engine in a year or two to freshen it up, put a cam in it and maybe some head work. That would be the time to try to find someone to do it. I will have her torn down, and the wife won't remind me of what I just spent on the Pertronix.

Dave has been having some health issues the past few months as a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time(in a convenience store at the same time as an armed robbery :eek2: ) He is back up and working at getting the backlog of distributors done that he has. He may be hard to get a hold of, but he sure does nice work...

I posted a question to him over at BuickThunder and he replied to it with the full story of what happened.

"I've been rather busy with doctors and hospitals of late.

A couple of months ago, I got shot by a robber while he was trying to rob a convenience store, once in the left hip, once in the gut, .22 caliber, bullet one is still deeply imbedded in the hip bone. Of course, this 220 lb. retired Special Forces person doesn't like being shot, so, I disarmed the creep, then proceeded to beat almost all the living daylights out of him. I held the guy for the cops until they got there, and only after I stood up, did the paramedics find the gut shoot blod and wound.

So, I got out of the hospital, went home, turned off the computer and phone, and went to work on back orders. So, I thought I was going to get the work done and orders out, nice plan, disaster.

Monday, I ended up not being able to breathe, so, emergency room, double bacterial pneumonia. I got out yesterday afternoon.

I am going to do the same, stop all down until I get ALL the back orders done, finished, out, GONE.

I sure could have gone along in life without all this stuff happening, I sure don't need it.

Give me a week or so, then try again, please."

If I would have known there was a good reason I would have waited instead of buying the Pertronix.
Hope he is back to 100% again soon.

I sent my distributor in to Dave over a month ago and have been bugged why I haven't seen it back or heard from him. I have left emails and phone messages to no avail. Almost got nasty. Glad I didn't. I'm probably not the only one. I hope he doesn't have too many nasty messages to reply to. What a disaster. Thanks for the explanation, now I can pray for his recovery instead of worrying about my dizzy.

Best wishes to Dave for a quick and complete recovery. He sure did not need or deserve that.
