You can see where my fuel pressure gauge is, right next to the Evaporator box. Looks like it would be free and clear of heat, but it warms up enough to drop the reading. And to show I don't have underhood air temps my Intake Air Temp Sensor rarely goes over 110*F and while driving a few degrees over ambient. I guess it's just one more thing to be aware of.

Hmmm...good to know. I guess I'll keep an eye on that to see if temps seem to affect the gauge. Thanks. Also, what's up with the duck tape? lol.

Me and that upper hose go waaaay back  It even has a mini fan club on another forum. It was a hose on the orignal 231 V6. Then the fan chewed on it some, so I moved it up and the hood rubbed on it some. So after at least ten years of faithful service I retired it last month, lol. It's now resting comfortably in my trunk as a spare.

    This picture is newer:

SUCCESS AT LAST! LOL. I wen tout this morning and removed the pre-pump filter and when i took it apart to clean the actual filter, it was caked in slimy rust particles and dirt. So, I cleaned it out with compressed air and reinstalled it. It now runs great. I did a lot of driving today testing it out and letting the computer learn. It'll still take some tweaking I think to get a couple things squared away but all in all it runs great now!

Cool! Keep and eye on that filter.

Yeah, at the first sign of the pump struggling I'll clean it and if that doesn't happen before i go through my first tank of gas, I plan on taking it out to clean it at that point anyway.

I started experiencing some drop in power and the pump was starting to whine so I cleaned out the filter yesterday. It wasn't that dirty but i DID notice a brown colored fuel coming out of the post-pump filter so I ordered a couple more and will replace the post pump filter tomorrow. Sigh, it's starting to get rediculous. Plus, my freaking windshiled wiper keeps blowing it's fuse and I have no idea why. I don't know why it's a never ending struggle with this car.

You need your tank cleaned out/replaced, there is no ifs, ands or buts about it, it will never run out of rust. You're just going to be hard on pricey parts until then. My '67 T-bird was the same way. Hope you have a really really really good post filter because that stuff could be detrimental to your injectors. On my T-bird the rust particles would get through two filters and I would find a red coating in the float bowl. The carb can pass it, not so sure on injectors....

la la la la...i can't here you! LOL. Yeah, I fear the worst too and have from the start. Do those tank cleaning solutions really work though? I just don't want to have to take the take out, clean the tank and re-install it just to have the same problems. I think what I'll do it continue to clean the pre-filter as necessary and I ordered two post filters. If I can't make it through at LEAST one more tank of gas without changing the post filter twice then I'm just going to get the fuel cell like I originally wanted to do. WISH someone made repo gas tanks for this thing. Maybe if I DO go the fuel cell route, I'll contact OPGI and see if they want my tank to recreate.

What kind of car is it? I don't know of any kind of cleaners. I've heard that radiator shops can do some kind of cleaning and coating on gas tanks. May want to explore that option.

I ran through 20 or so tanks on my t-bird when I bought it before I found a repo tank. The filters would plug every 120 miles, not fun.

Do your self a favor and remove the tank and at least clean it... If there is rust in your tank then the tank is garbage. I am not sure why many people spend thousands of dollars in upgrades to their cars and then feed the engine rust, sand and deposit filled fuel.

I was just checking out their website actually. I might get the whole cleaner/sealer kit and give that a whirl.

I figure since all work has stopped for now I'd at least post a pic of the finished engine bay.

need to drop that restrictive air cleaner, or if you like the stock look, drill some 1" holes in the base (on the outside of where the filter sits of course)

Powerjection makes a big deal out of their injectors being above the throttle blades. Anyone out there know what the real deal is with injectors above or below the throttle blades?

    To the OP,

Can you pull the lid on the air cleaner and take some pics? I'd like to see how the air cleaner fits onto the projection throttle body.

Also, can you get some close ups with the air cleaner off? ...and what type of intake manifold is that?

    Thanks!

I'll get some pics, but in the mean time the air cleaner fit perfectly. I had to bend the two tabs near the front portion of the cleaner (the ones that are formed to fit with the quadrajet) but other than that it's great. It's a Edelbrock Performer intake.

Cool. Did you need an adapter so the Powerjection could bolt on? I couldn't tell from the pics.
