From what I remember, ragtops couldn't be ordered with a power antenna. Then again, I am frequently wrong, as my loving wife points out nearly every day. That being, said, I know I saw a thread a few years back regarding somebody who went ahead and installed one in the trunk just like on hardtops, though I couldn't find the thread myself when I searched. So -- any real issues with doing so?
My 67 gs ragtop has one. Its in stock location on frt fender. To the best of my knowledge no 67 intermediate cars had em from the factory but its a cool feature nonetheless.
There was a 69 out here in WA with a power antenna installed. Here is a pic (not the best, as it wasn't taken to show the antenna).
If you plan to use a new antenna, you'll need a radio with a power lead that can control it. Of course if you use an old one you'll need the dash switch
Oh, I have all the parts accumulated, just wondering about correctness and issues. Haven't made up my mind yet.
Chris...there was one in the 69 GS 350 hardtop parts car for the back end...I gave it to a buick guy down here. It could have been adapted to the vert in the rear but I already had the antenna in the windshield. Eric / Oregon
