    I guess I'll go first...

Disclaimer, my short block was built with a left over rotating assembly from another car project, none of the parts are "choice" parts.

    4025 lbs with driver
71 455 block bored 0.040" with notched heavy sealed power pistons, studded mains
    10.05:1
    Stock crank and rods
    Gessler Heads
    Home ported exhaust manifolds
Gessler/Tomlinson ported 70 intake (I asked Greg about it and he didn't recall but that's what I was told when I bought it)
    Fred Catlin Quadrajet
    Stinger S4
Comp Cam, noisy valve train but seems to run ok (230/241 on a 116 LSA installed at 115 ICL
    400-430 rocker arms
    3.73 axle
    ATI 10" tree master
and to keep going fast with class 2.5" stainless exhaust, long case dyno max with bullet mufflers behind the axle to keep it quiet.

    Best ET 12.27 @ 108, 1.64 60' with drag radials.

My recent trip to BG for the GS Nats with 3000' air was 12.45 @ 106.2, this corrects to sea level to 12.03 @ 109.9 mph. Let's hope! I plan to run it in the next few weeks.

I have a question about your "3000' air" part of your statement. We are at about 560' above sea level in BG, Beechbend may be lower as it is right on the river. How do you calculate air level?

Density Altitude, a combination of starting elevation, barometric pressure, temperature and humidity.

This is a really neat site, http://www.dragtimes.com/

It has a Density Altitude calculator. You can do it by drag strip, actually research your time slips and correct them to perfect conditions at that drag strip.

I actually have the app on my cell phone. I just looked at Beechbend Raceway for 9-16-16 at about 12 noon. The track elevation is 529 feet.

The temperature was 90*, barometer was 30.06, humidity was 46%, an the Density Altitude was 2742 feet.

At 2:53 PM it was 3041 feet,

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant "air density". I used this website as an approximate air density value, http://airdensityonline.com/. I also use the "Drag Times" app on my phone. The nice thing about this app is that it can look up historical data and then normalizes it to perfect conditions. I do this to help compare changes from different days. I wouldn't say that the difference is absolute but I like to think the trend is correct. And I say "approximate" air density because the software pulls weather data from nearby, not necessarily at your location. An actual weather station used at your location gives the best info. That is very cool! Learn something new every day! Now, if we could just get the Weather Channel include that as part of their forecast on my phone app...

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

    One of mine:

    1967 Buick GS400 convertible

block: 1970 455 bored .030", a few basic oil modifications
Pistons and Rods: polished factory rods with ARP bolts, old Speed-Pro forged pistons p/n 2362P-30
    Compression : 9:98:1
Cam with specs: have run 3 different regular flat tappet hydraulic, all ran virtually the same: 230/240 .496"/.496" 110 LS, & 240/240 .496"/.496 on 112LS, and 230/245 .496"/.501" 116LS
Rockers: stock '68-'69 aluminum rockers (oiling through a set of adjustable length pushrods)
    Heads: ported '67 castings
    Intake: mildly ported '67 casting
    Carb: 1973 model Q-jet with .073" jets
Ignition: points distributor with MSD 6A box hidden inside the car
Exhaust: ported cast iron exhaust manifolds, 2-1/2 exhaust (no X-pipe, no H-pipe) with Walker UltraFlo mufflers (p/n 17295)
Converter: stock Buick VP convertor ("switch pitch") that was removed from a 300ST trans and installed into the stock ST 400 transmission
Trans: stock '67 ST400 "Switch pitch" with just a sprag upgrade
    Gears: stock '67 8.2" 10-bolt rearend with 3.55 gears
Horsepower and weight: made only 336 rwhp ona chassis dyno, total race weight is 4,010 lbs
And anything else you wanna add: runs 93 octane pump gas through stock fuel lines and stock Stage 1 mechanical fuel pump, soft DOT approved street tires, 100% stock appearing.

engine was last apart in 1996, ran 12.10 @ 111.39 in 1998, has several hundred passes since then and thousands of street miles and still ran 12.11 in 2015 on it most recent trip to the track. My wife calls it old reliable because it always runs the same year after year and never fails to start and is always driven to and from the track with no issues. It usually runs extremely consistent e.t.s and has won the bracket class at my local track on several occasions. It ain't fancy or pretty but it works well and very reliable.

This was an older build/car that I sold in 2004 but I was really happy with it.
71 GS 455 4 speed with 3:42 gear and Bowling Green Customs drag radials.
The car weighed 3424 lbs (no AC, no power brakes, 4 wheel drums, 71 455 stock bore and rods and pistons. Heads converted to Stage 1 valves with mild port work, stock cast iron intake with original Quadrajet, 1 7/8" headders with dual 3" exhaust with dynomax mufflers.
The cam was a Lunati SP2X, don't remember the exact specs but I had T/A roller Rockers.
The best was a 12.97 at 108 mph, I never could get a good launch out of the hole. I think a 2.1 second 60 foot was the best.

455 +.030, aluminum pistons with stock rods, 1967 430 heads mildly ported, SP1 intake, Holley 950HP carb, Poston 113A cam (similar to TA's 413 but slightly milder), headers, 200-4R trans with 2700 stall converter to 3.73 rear gears. 11.86 at 112 in a 4250 lb. convertible on slicks. Ran 12.1 at 110 on the street tires.

Man, I'll be the slowpoke of the group, but here goes:
'68 GS400 convertible, 3600 pounds, 2.93 rear gears. '76 bottom end all stock but with new rings and bearings, small valve non smog heads, mild cam, roughly 9:1 compression, street driven 10 thousand miles a year and driven seven hours each way to the Nats three years running. It went 13.80s last year and 14.00s this year, with stock manifolds and 2 1/4" exhaust. It was built as a 'temporary engine' by a modest fellow named Bryan Woodworth while the more serious engine he also built waits on the stand. It just drives too nice to take apart. Idle is 650 'wuhwubwubwub' but will roast tires at will and isn't embarassed by the shoepolish dial-in on the glass driving home from Kentucky.
