Is this the way the factory installed the convertible top tack strips to the header bow originally? If so, should I have 3 rivets on each side? Car is a 1969 GS 400. Any and all help appreciated.

    Cheers,

No those should not be there. Should be no holes in that area. Tack strip is mounted in channel and is attached with screws, someone added them.

Ok, my familar with the tabs but do you know how many screws on the ends and where? I have some degree of rust on both ends. I found nothing in the Fisher Assembly manual. Can I go with contact cement and the tabs?

These are the holes that were in my original, i have to go back and look at pictures exactly how the tack strip was attached but you can see the holes.

Thank you. Mine looks to be missing the last front tab on both sides. They must have also used adhesive under the tack strip as well. Do you know the sizes of all the tacks strips required? There seems to be more than two sizes not including the rear which I haven't removed yet. Thanks Again, Mike

I don't know the sizes, i will leave that up to the person that puts the top together. I took out all the old tack strips since most in places would get some moisture in and there was rust in some areas so I cleaned all that all out and will let the upholster guy deal with that.
