Good morning to all. I was wondering who produces the best reliable, points and Condenser. For my 72' Buick 350-4. Thank you.

Echlin / NAPA for your usage.

DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

normally I did a tune with the standard company's HD point set #DR2270XP . a little extra spring tension , nice felt lube pad that rubs against dist cam and a sorta copperish plating of some sort . be cautious of parts stores supercedence of these ( I work at carquest , new ones not same , some stores may have old stock left ) as they will most likely not be the same . always worked fine .
and although MAYBE better now than when they came out the points/condenser combo's i stay away from .
Mallory used to list a #102X hd points set ( probably more spring tension than you'll need ) , a#102M points set and a #401 condenser . not currently available through summit when I checked . might be some out there somewhere . accel may have a listing also - forgot to check that . and I almost think a good napa employee could come up with a part number for an Echlin/accel part . same I think . accel stuff also available through advanced auto also maybe .
I think I have a new/reman 350 dist that added an accel cap n rotor to and the good standard point set ? will check .
don't be afraid to throw in a basic electronic changeover kit ( $75-100 ? ) . looks the same from the outside . appreciate the "old school" though !
    edit : yeah I think I did see that dist . check accel #'s - 110127 , 110128 and kit #'s 52100 and 2010 . all that's from an older catalog .

Just don't use the points set that has the points and condenser on the same piece of metal.
The ones that are separate work better. Use a dwell meter and not a feeler gauge to set

There ARE NO good napa points and condenser anymore.... "napa" stands for "Never American Parts Available"........
The very best EVER made .... was .... Standard Blue Streak -- DR2270XP Points and DR70X Condenser --- discontinued 4 years ago.....
I bought a lot of them, purposely, 4 years ago, and have plenty of them for whomever wants them.....
Why was Standard Blue Streak the best ? you ask..... 3 reasons --- all copper contacts, the screw for adjustment, and their own innovation --
a bracket with a wick on it -- you keep that lubricated with cam lube -- you'll never need to rebuild that distributor.....
