Plug wires

    I had my number 5 and 7 crossed with each other and zip tied together, would this cause a miss fire causing an arc on the number 7 post on the distributor. By crossed i dont meen on wrong just crossing each other. Thanks

    If they are in good condition, this should not occur.

    No. Not unless your distributor and/or wires are in REALLY poor shape.

    Routing the 5 and 7 wires parallel with each other is a great way to destroy an engine. Inductive misfire can spark the gap on 7 using the energy that should be going to 5. This blows #7 90 degrees advanced causing lots of heartache.

    I believe this was more of a problem with solid-core wires than resistor wires, and better-still with helical-wound suppression wires. However I still try to keep plug wires at least 1/2 inch from each other. Crossing at right-angles is no big deal, but don't let them route parallel with each other without keeping some distance between 'em.
