James, I am happy to see you were able to spend some time with your mom and watch a classic movie.

I really like the way your car looks :TU:

    Thanks for that picture Mike!
It was good seeing you and catching up
I was worried about driving in the rain.
I've not had much confidence in my wipers for many years.
So, I avoid driving in the rain.

Turns out, what has been hurting the performance of my wipers is, A DRY WINDSHIELD!!
When the windshield is wet, the wipers work fine !!!
    Thanks for that picture Mike!

Mama and I have been in our new places a year now.
    It's working very well.
I try to get to Mama's house once a week.
And try to call her in the morning , as I drive from the office to my land surveying assignment.
Mom's father and her brother were land surveyors, and she worked in my Dad's land surveying business.
And she is very interested in what and where I'll be working. And what type of survey we'll be doing.
Mama is doing well in her new place.
And she is so congenial , and keeps her place in such good order, that the management regularly asks her to show her place to potential residents. She likes meeting new folks and having people in her home , so it's win win for all.
Included in Mom's rent is a hot lunch every day.
The rear door to her apartment opens in to a common area where the lunch is served . And she gets a good square meal everyday.
I've eaten the lunch with her , and it's quite good. She says it is very good everyday.

A nurse comes to check on her once a week.
And her regular doctor is at the complex once a week on a different day. So she is checked by the doctor and the nurse two days a week.
My sister takes Mama to the cardiologist once a month.

Mama has a walker with four wheels, and solid rubber tires. She takes that walker out every morning and does a lap around the building.
    About a mile total.
She walks about 1/2 mile to see the Doctor every week.
She already blew a tire on her walker.
    So, thanks for the prayers.
Mom and I are doing pretty good.

Oh, and my landlady didn't increase the rent on my next 12 month lease.
Even though she made a bunch of improvements to the landscaping around my building .

Thank You, James, for the update. She walks a mile with a walker = awesome! If only every senior citizen had Mama's attitude. They'd feel better, quality of life would be better and, most importantly, they would be with us longer. Love that Mom of yours!

    It was HOT yesterday.
I called Mom and she said she walked the 500 feet to a another building, where there was an exercise class.
They sit in chairs while they exercise.
She said she got more excersiz on walk to and fro.

Tell her to be careful! She should make someone aware of her walks so that they can check her walking progress just in case she needs help, especially when it's either real hot or cold.

    That's a good idea.
