My dad has been fighting colon cancer for around five years now. It has shown up in his liver more than once and he recently underwent radiation for a growth on or between his ribs and lungs. He is really weak and has lost a lot of weight over the last month or two. He can hardly support himself and we put him in a wheelchair on a recent family vacation. My sister just called me and told me he is very bloated from fluids and that he is jaundiced. He's sleeping all the time and seems to really be slipping down a slippery slope. I hope his systems aren't shutting down. He could use some prayers, so I am asking for you guys to think of him when you are praying. Thank you very much.
Hang in there and just pray for the best. For those of us that have a loved one go through this we know this is a time for prayer
Thank you guys, I really appreciate the help. I'm going to go see him today. My siblings and I will assess the situation and try to figure out what to do. If he's getting worse we'll push his oncologist to possibly admit him. Thanks again from my whole family. Your prayers are appreciated.
My prayers are with you and your family Ken. Having gone through a similar situation with my Dad, (bladder cancer) I can relate to what you are going through.
Ken Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It's a tough fight, you just have to be strong.
Thank you very much guys. We almost took him to the e-room today, but his doc said he thought it wasn't necessary (will see doc monday). He was in and out today with no strength to even sit up without help. He seemed pretty good when I left tonight, best he was all day, so keep those prayers coming! Thanks again, I believe in the power of prayer.
Ken, I will pray for your father and for your family. My dad had quad bypass surgery last month. Many kind people on the board posted and emailed me prayers and warm thoughts. This is a good place to turn to ask for prayer.
My brother just called to tell me the antibody treatment they started my father on is not working. This was his last option, so... He currently isn't in pain and we are all praying that it remains that way for him. My mom will be devastated as will we all. They've been married for 55 years. I am so sad. Thanks for listening.
