So sorry for Your and Your Family's loss. Two guys I know that "knew better" have passed from the same thing. Sad. Just taking a few seconds to place a jackstand................
Bob, sorry for the loss of your grandson. I always remember my brother in law telling me to use the jack stands under the car and also put tire's with rims under the car just in case.
Bob, so very sorry for your loss. You have my sincerest condolences. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, please feel free to shoot me a text or call me anytime if you need anything.
Bob, My heart is aching for you and the family, such a terrible tragedy. Will add y’all to my prayer list. John
That is terrible news and the same thing happened to a friend of mine many years ago. Very sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandson. As I've said before what a great time of loss in our Community... It might just be due to the size of this Community and the Friendships we share. Prayers for your family at this time.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss to your family. We all appreciate you sharing this with us because it serves as a reminder to stay safe.
So sorry to hear of your loss. I know most of us have done it once or twice. Just a quick jack and crawl under it, no need for jack stands for just 2 minutes, right? It is one of my greatest fears, to be hurt by my cars. I have 8 jack stands and 2 jacks after a close call when I was 19 using concrete blocks. No words can bring him back but your courage may save someone else's child, father, husband, brother.
Again, sorry for your loss. On the safety aspects of jack stands. BEWARE OF THE CHINESE IMPORTS. They are mostly made of cast iron & DON'T hold up well to ANY side movement as they end up breaking at important ares. I have ONLY old steel jack stands made in the USA. I wouldn't trust the chinesium junk as far as I could through them. MY life is worth more. At 73 I'm wanting to build my very own 1st. race car. Been dreaming of it for years & the opportunity may arise that I can & actually be able to drive it before the time comes. At 73 I, like many others, are on our downhill slides. So the future gives the passion to just go ahead & do it. Tom T.
Bob so sorry for yours and Darren's loss, Prayers for the whole family. I saw a article online in the tribune on Devin he sounded like quite a young man taken way to soon. May he RIP
When I was about 18 I was working under the right front of my '55 Buick which had the wheel removed. The rear left wheel was blocked, the car was in gear (it had a manual transmission). The right front was supported by a bumper jack. I heard a strange sound that I didn't like and the creeper and I scooted out from under the car as fast as I could move. There was a huge crash and the right front boob just grazed my forehead. It left a mark that took about a year to disappear. One second slower and I would have been dead. That was the last time that I have ever been under a car that was jacked up without some kind of secondary support, In a pinch, an Oak or some other hardwood log will work. Beware of concrete blocks - they will shatter. I'm sorry for your loss.
