Slow healer. Took me a few years to get better. Stayed away for expensive orthotics - used Superfeet instead - just moved them around to various shoes I'd be in regularly - especially when walking around my concrete garage floor. Then I kept my toes elevated at and angle at work when sitting. Cortisone shots didn't work well for me.
My friend & his wife that had it says stay off your feet and lay low for about 10 days. Says it will calm down. Just impatient I guess.
X2. I had it for a summer. I wore the boot at night and it went away. Crossing my fingers it never comes back but still have the boot if it does.
I had it and didn't realize what it was called until seeing this thread. I would sometimes swear I had something in my shoe, but it was awful, especially 1st thing in the AM. Thank goodness it seems to have gone away for the most part, but it took well over a year. A lot of flexion of my ankle (toes toward knee) which seemed to stretch things (tendons I assume) in the heel and finally started feeling stuff move in my heel. Could actually even hear it a few times (almost like a joint cracking) and once things started moving, I kept doing that every night and the pain finally started subsiding. Watching this thread in case it comes back. Good luck to everyone suffering. It was awful & most of these cases here seem way worse than even what I had.
Kuru shoes. They run around $100 or a little more. They have an active heal cup that squeezes the natural padding on the bottom of your heal with each step. If I try to wear anything else for a day or two it starts to come back. Look em up. Cliff
I've heard of Kuru's. My buddy swears by them, and my plumber friend that's in crawl spaces alot. Symptoms feel better this morning. Wore the splint, stretched when I got up. Just won't really know if a single method is working. I'm throwing everything at it including the kitchen sink! Off to P.T. & the gym.......
I stand on the steps and hang my heels down for about 1 minute once a week. Keeps the tendon stretched - Have not had a flair up in years.
Been doing that. It does work /help and sometimes I can get almost instant relief. This latest flare up has my left heel not cooperating as in the past. Never had this condition until last summer! Kind of makes you wonder, "what's coming next"!
The best cure is rest. Point blank period. Stretching it helps but you need to stay off it. So no sports or running for a while and your insoles have to be good. Trust me I know I have been these. I used to get pain all the time to the point where every morning it was tough to get out of bed. Eventually I went and played some bball and it popped. Yup fully torn achilles. The worst pain I have ever felt in my life. Recovery was long and hard. It still has never been the same. Still have the slightest limp. So stay off of it when you can. The pain you are feeligc is a bunch of small tears. They need time to heal or they will rupture
Yep, I'm laying low when I can. Just hope possible scar tissue doesn't form and be a hinderance. Hopefully the Ultrasound treatments will keep it to a minimum.
This is something our company sells. http://www.vasylimedical.com/research/conditions/plantar-fasciitis Mostly it's something that a PT would sell along with treatment. I can't and don't walk barefoot except maybe in the house some. I'm nearly always wearing running or trail running shoes. Heal pain sucks.
Wore a boot and that helped, but could not sleep in it (Doctor rec). Glucosamine Sulfate...was the cure for me. Took it fo a few months and it was good.
I have been wearing compression socks under my regular socks at work because my feet have been hurting from standing all day. They seem to help a bunch. Most of my pain is not in the heal. I do see these compression type socks https://www.amazon.com/Copper-Compr...-spons&keywords=copper+compression+socks&th=1
Get a jar of Blue Emu the one Johnny Bench advertises! I used it to get rid of my plantar ! worked for me
I had PF kicking my butt for almost 2 years. I went to a MD, a podiatrist and PT, what started helping was one PT using dry needling ( like acupuncture) and then a second PT who really knows her stuff about feet and PF took over and set up the vasyli arch supports with extra wedges under the heel to get the relationship between my feet and ankle into the correct angle. I was really bad, I wore the boots to bed on both feet for a year and a half, stretched all the time but if i stopped for lunch or a coffee break my feet would lock up and usually I was gimping along after 3 pm no matter what I did. After work I couldn’t do anything and the doctors recommended cutting my activity to 50% of my normal which I thought was funny because I was just barely able to finish the workday. Ask about the dry needling and try to find someone who really understands setting up arch supports. The 300 dollar arch supports I got from the podiatrist did not help much until my physical therapist tuned them up. She did the same tune up on the vasyli arch supports and they were priced so much lower that I have 3 sets for the shoes I wear the most.
