    Photos attached.

    Observations:
    - Body and paint in good shape
    - Driveshaft and headers present but not installed
    - Per a guy decoding the VIN, an actual GS350
    - Front and rear bumpers, grille in good shape
    - Chin splitter present but on the garage floor
    - Interior photos say more than I can, but smells and looks OK - there's a couple of unidentified switches on the dash....
    - Floors appear solid
    - They're taking bids, highest bid @ 3:30 wins. It's a closed-bid type of thing, make your best offer and go from there.

Wow...EPI LS70 speaker controller. I had a set of those back in the day! (it's the black box with 2 knobs at the bottom of the dash).

State of the art 1979 paint job and interior. brings back memories. someone (most definitely not me) needs to buy that car and get it back on the road.

I placed my bid. Its a cool vintage GS. If I am lucky enough to have it come home with me it will be cleaned up on the road very quickly. I just dig it. I was shocked the engine was not more detailed out and that it was a NON power break car. Looks to have been a very low option GS when he got it. I see the base int panel and the owner said he put the clock in the dash after he got it. Someone will be happy in about a hour. I hope it is me.

Interesting, the design on the door panels is for the Standard interior. That would mean it originally came with a bench seat and was changed to buckets.

    Definitely a period piece.

i May have just bought the fenders and doors off this car you describe.
the chopped top is a dead giveaway, along with the same flares on the body.
the paintjob looks? to have been sort of triangelish type not really sure.
it is definitely a show car paintjob,
and looks to have been some form of purpleish? metallic glow.
it is located in western ny and is in parts/rough condition.
all the drivetrain was sold before i found it.
if you have pics of it,was the interior was diamond tuck red/almost burgundy?
and this car was a 4 speed car as well.
ill try to get pics of it sunday,at least the flares and so forth.

also,if its the same car, they chopped the top very nicely in the front but laid the rear window almost horizontally?
    another visible clue maybe.

That would be cool if it was the same car. I always wondered what happened to it . Never saw it after the show in the eighties.

Well guys I talked to the owner this evening and I am excited to say this beauty will be coming to North Carolina. I am very excited. I just dig this car and I cant wait to get it up and running. My plans are to leave the paint just the way it is. Give it a good cleaning. If it needs it I will have a body shop shoot some clear on it. It may not be everyones taste but something about it really just makes me smile. I will have to remove the 4:56 gears out of that rear axle being I would like to drive it on the street and highway. Cant see that happening with that steep of a gear. I am looking forward to seeing what all retro stuff is on the car as well as adding a few choice parts to it. Have to say it would look good with a set of TA Performance Aluminum 350 heads. I have a fair amount of ideas on things I am considering doing. It is going to be a lot of fun. I will post pics and updates on the board when it see's daylight after being in a garage for over 30 years.

Congrats Ryan! I know how much you wanted it! Hope theres no surprises with it! Gotta know the detail about auctioneers fee's and of course the $$$ if you be so kind. Just for a matter of record keeping for any future sales fodder. I know its rude to ask, but a lot of people would be interested. Now get on those Cragars!!! Again, Congrats! ws
