You might be surprised I think these new parts would be a much needed improvement. My car had a big cap HEI in it when I got it.. did not allow the GS air cleaner to sit right. So when I did the repro engine harness, I ordered it completely stock, including the externally regulated alternator even though I have an internally regulated alternator... I got the conversion kit so I could keep a stock harness. I got a remanufactured stock style distributor from Autozone for $40 if i recall completely I put the Crane XRi kit in myself, easy peasy New coil New plug wires But I dont have a base line for 1/4 mile from before this... but I could feel it starts and runs much better.
