pitman problems

    fast-gs what to do now?

    i ve got a manual steering gear from a 67 chevelle went to put it in my 72 gs and found out the hole in the pitman is to big for the center link in my gs. any ideas on what pitman that would work? year model? etc thanks rick note- i also placed a thread in the parts wanted forum

    www.opgi.com has them on page 9 of the new parts insert to their new cat.

    Because a used one is likely to be worn I would not settle for any thing other than new but here are the cross over years and part numbers:

    If your car has PS then 68-72 (3 -4000 series) = GM # 5679209

    For non ps then all A bodies 71-2 + GM # 7811779

    yeah thanks, found one on ebay (reperduction) for 65.00
