the pin that keeps the column shifter lever in place keeps backing out. I can use a punch and get back in flush, it will stay in position for a couple cruises. Anyone ever had this issue, if so what’s the fix?
    Thanks

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

If the holes in the column and shifter are not worn, you can find the correct size drill pin, or you may be able to drive a tapered punch into the roll pin and spread each end enough to hold it.

If the holes are swallowed, then you either need to overfill to the next roll pin size.

You can just put a little bit of locktite on the knurl. That should hold it in place

It's an easy fix disconnect the column shifter and install a B&M ratchet shifter on the floor:).

I’ll try the Loctite. Not ready to chop a hole out of the bench seat for a ratchet shifter quite yet!

...bowl is pot metal, lasted 50 years with people jerking on shift lever, not bad (mine's just starting to get pin creep). "Glue" pin until that doesn't work any more, then maybe an oversize pin or "staking"...

Thanks guys. I’ll try the Loctite first, next step would be drill and tap end of the pin for a fastener to prevent the pin from creeping out.
