....with 90mm throttle body, 65lb injectors and rails all mocked up. Time to start matching and porting it to my TA Stage 2 SE's.:TU:

Kerry, that looks nice! It should be interesting to see how well it's going to perform. I'd be willing to bet that after you get done "tweaking " on it, it will be all around better than carburation, certainly more driveable.

    Kerry,

    Love the EFI manifold!

With that setup it looks like the drivers side will get more air than the passengers side, especially at higher airflow rates. What do you think?

    Thanks for the compliments Guys!:TU:

It took awhile to purchase it all again after my last one was stolen.:af: But I've managed to piece it all back together again.

    Steve....I definately am leaning towards it's drive-a-bility for sure!:TU:

Bob....I've had it on the flow bench bolted to the heads to see how it flowed as a system thru the throttle body and see no problems as to airflow being more biased towards the driver's side than the pass. side. Of course this is dry-flow but being EFI'd I dont' really have the worries of the fuel falling out of suspension and having a problem with un-equal distribution.:Do No: Time will tell though...:)

If you read any of the Mustang mag's you will see an ad for Coast High Performance...they sell that "power elbow" (as well as a complete "EFI Spider Manifold" set-up) to mate it to a 4-bbl manifold but still keep the throttle body in the stock location area. ( http://www.coasthigh.com/Fuel Injection/power_elbow.htm ) I ground the pad off of the top of it that had their Pro Mustang logo engraved on it.

I am not worried about the fuel, but about getting more air (i.e. running lean) on the one side. I assume you will be using EGTs, so you'll know if this actually happens. Are you using a controller than can tweak the fuel cylinder-to-cylinder?

Also, I have enough drivability issues with a progressive-linkage 4-bbl. I can't imagine a single throttle body with an FI car- talk about throttle response! The slightest touch of the gas pedal and you'll lurch hard. (That's okay for a car that is not driven daily, like mine, however. The wife just isn't to fond of it.) You'll probably need a feather-touch on the gas pedal.

Bob....Yes, EGT bungs on each primary tube as well as WideBand O2 in each collector (TA 2 1/8" X 3 1/2" but collectors replaced with Kooks merge collectors). A digital O2 monitor will also be mounted in plain sight for me to view as needed also. My Speed Pro (now F.A.S.T.) is sequential and not batch-fire. I will be able to fine-tune each injector individually. A new chassis dyno facility has opened locally that specializes in the F.A.S.T. system so I'm pretty confident we will get it tuned good.

I'm used to driving my '70 convert. with a 1050 Dommy that throttle response that was absolutley unbelievable. You breath near the gas pedal and she would be sideways! I learned to street drive it with not a problem at all...even on true street-treaded tires even. I can't stand to own a car (even if it's built for the strip) that I can not drive on the street. I don't care how fast it is, I NEED to be able to drive it where I want, when I want!

Kerry, were the injector bung castings big enough to drill? I'm contemplating buying the drill bit from MSD and doing them myself on a mill.

    Hi Guys,

    Chris....Thank you very much!

Adam....No problem at all..the injector bungs are plenty big enough. The only thing is that you will have to also mill the towers for the throttle cable bracket to be able to completely mill the #7 bung properly as it is partially covered. I can get a better pic without the injectors and rails showing exactly what I mean and post them in this thread tomorrow if you would like.:Do No:

Alan....Thanks! How's that D3-M treating you? Have you had it out of the box to "play" with yet?

    Kerry,

That's a pretty slick looking setup. It says on the page that you could modify it to me mounted for and aft. That would look pretty cool poking out of a Stage 2 scoop with a conical K&N on it!

Could there be an advantage of using a carb spacer beneath it to tune the airflow?

Will 90mm be enough throttle body for you?

Hi Steve...That's definately an idea!:TU: But this is going into my Regal and I'm hoping to not even need a cowl hood! I want mine mounted "5.0 style" so I can build my own air-box where the battery used to be.:Brow:

For me...any spacers would probably interfer with my plans to keep the stock flat hood. I'm sure it would probably help as it would give the incoming air more of a chance to straighten out when entering the manifold itself and speed up before entering the ports. I'm NOT saying I won't try it at some point down the road though....especially if I end up having to have a cowl hood for clearance reasons already.:Brow:

Oh.....I think 90mm should cover me Ok....that's 4" of inlet that equates to 1400+ cfm!:TU:

    Hi Guys,

Rich....Thanks for the compliment! Health's being doing not to bad, I just got out of the hospital two weeks ago today (more pneumonia and such related things) after being in there for 3 1/2 weeks. Decided to let me go home on IV antibiotics...just finished them yesterday. Have to go back down to St. Louis for a check-up with my transplant doctors to determine if I keep my current spot on the list or move either up or down here in a couple of weeks.:Do No:

:grin:Just between you and me (Ok..."the Buick family" too)...I've been trying to work on things at least a couple of hours a day as I feel up to it...just PLEASE don't tell my doctor.

Kerry, I wasn't really aware of your health, other than reading something about it not good. I didn't realize it was so serious. I'm certainly pulling for you as well.

I'll be real interested in your AOD success too. I read about the CK Perf adapter. I had a trans guy express doubt about the AOD because they have a real small direct? clutch pack. I know the claims are good, so it will be interesting to comare to the 200-4R. Funny, back to FoMoCo trans in a Buick (like the factory HD 3-speed manual in the 60's)

I'm looking forward to the pics so I'm sure I understand what you meant.

That setup is still intact and on the engne, and hopefully will be producing tire smoke late this year or early next year. As for the D3-M, I don't have enough sense to know when to quit!!! :spank: :error: :Dou:

    But I like it!
