    Stg1Regal Yep Traction Issues!:)

Remembering a while back I spoke to a guy with a 71 Road Runner GTX that had a 6-71 blower on a 440 that was ran by a laptop controlled Dyers Fuel Injection System ( injector hat).
He spoke of the performance levels and the driveabilty of it.
Aslo the visual impact...it was sharp...!!!
Wanted to know if any one has ran this similar setup and how did it run on a 455?
Any pics out there on a 455 blower set ups?
I keep having this vision ( although shady at times:rolleyes: ) about doing this to my Regal, I know under the hood blowers are steathly but I like the Visual impact and the sound.
Maybe even tubbing the Regal out ( so far just a dream and a vision that I since my first car( call me old fashion):Do No:
Is a fesiable set up and practical?
Still hold close to my heart though a all Black Regal with flames on it and Twin Turbos (sweet!!!!) and looking like a G-Force ride.
But the same car with the blower and tubbed.....:TU:
Just want some input or ideas or thoughts , just toying the idea cuz haven't seen one like it at the Nats or even around.
Thanks for the bandwidth time and letting me ramble

These are old pics from the 1984 G$ Nats of a Wildcat with a blower on a Nailhead.
Somewhere I think I have pics of a blower on a 455 GS but can't locate it at the moment.

    first pic below.....

O.K., my imagination is running amok. Has anyone ever heard of a blower setup for a 350 Buick? I'm putting my car together and this is an option I wouldn't want to pass up if it's available. Thanks JT:rolleyes:

JT, at the nats this year there was a guy making a centrifical blower kit complete with everything needed to bolt right on a 350, including the bonnet for the carb. He said he bolted it right on to a stock 72ish 350, and it made over 450hp. He said they were still working on the kits, but they'd be available for the next nats, at least if I'm remembering right. I'm only going from memory. Now if someone else on the board here could help me out with his name. I can't remember it for the life of me.:Do No:

I have heard a lot of talk about a kit for a big block buick, but Mike does not seem to have to time to return emails very often. I am having a kit built for an F1R procharger fabricated next week. If a person cannot commit to a date then they should not get everyone all excited to the point where they are purchasing blowers and waiting for something that might not happen anytime soon. Mine will be a passenger side mount so the only thing you lose is AC. I will be more than happy to provide pictures and specs instead of pipe dreams to anybody who wants them. Why should we be charging each other to help each other wup ass. How difficult is an f***ing bracket to make. the only inconvenience is coming up with the crank pulley. All you have to do is get the aluminum AC delete bracket for the alternator, mill off a 1/4 inch and put a quarter inch piece of steel behind it for the bracket itself. Then build a brace that attaches at the end of the bracket and mounts to the cylinder head to prevent twist. Seem reasonable? I sure as hell think so. I don't think it takes upwards of six months to make something that takes maybe two to three days worth of fabrication.

    Hi Guys,

David......since I purchased my D3-M 2 years ago I was unaware the ATI has since come out with a reverse-rotation such as your F1-R. My project was put on a BIG hold when my shop was broken intoearlier this year and much of my major engine components was stolen, that really put a halt to my progress.

Anyway, I hope your bracket fabrication comes thru Ok for you. I will tell you this.....from my experience it looks simple till you actually start doing all that is needed. It involves much more than just a simple bracket or two. It's much more than just simple flat brackets and such, you need to engineer everything to be as stiff as possible with absolutely no flex or you will be throwing your belt constantly as soon as boost starts to come into the picture and the unit starts to "load". Just something to keep in mind here.:) I wish you luck in achieving and having everything correct in "a couple of days" too.:TU:

BTW...the brackets you make will probably only work with your RR unit and your pass. side application. Are you intercooling? EFI or carb?

Again....Best of Luck and I DO agree with "our" sharing of info as this site is excellent in that regard! :TU:

I would just like to put my .02 in here. First off, when I bought my Pro-charger after talking with Mike, There was no date set in stone when the brakets would be done (just a round about time frame). I went ahead and purchased my charger so I would have it when the brackets were done and I didn't have to wait for procharger to build it.

Secondly Mike's kits will mount on the drivers side and the AC/Power steering will all still work. This was big for me. I didn't wan't to delete anything off my GS. Yes I'm still waiting for the brackets but I knew going into it , it could be this way. I feel that Mike has taken some un-needed bashing here. I just don't feel it's right. He is after all just tring to help us out in his spare time.

Mike hasn't posted since 3/02. I am sure he is working on your brackets as we speak. You might be better off going to a local machine shop before your blower becomes obsolete.

Ok...... for starters, there not just my brackets. He's doing it so there will be a bolt on kit for 350's and 455 buicks. Personaly, you have to hand it to him. He's making sure everything checks our before he's mass producing them (strengh and load test).

It will take a long time for my blower to become obsolite. I don't feel there's any reason for you to be flaming Mike like you are. It's not like he's got your money or he promissed they would be done at a certain time. Give the guy a break!!
