Last yr I came into a "free" vacation package at a resort of my choice(of their selected properties) Have a set time frame to take advantage of this generous offer. My only obligation is to sit through a hard sell time share presentation. Anyway, my anniversary is coming up next month so I signed up for the southern most location which is Phoenix. I expect the weather to be about the same as it is in north Fl so not looking for a tropical vacation. Booked my air fare and rental car last night. Now were looking for things to do while we are there. I know we have members in that area. Any suggestions? Wife is not into the car thing so strong car themed outings probably will not fly.

So I guess the Barret Jackson auction is not even remotely possible?

In-laws snowbird there. Visited them last year...holy crap are the streets busy! So be prepared.
Hiking and site seeing in the mountains was pretty cool.
Also, I know you said no cars but you NEED to check out Penske Racing Museum.

You could go to Scottsdale and check out T/A performance, Mike is a busy guy but will usually take time to visit a little.

If you like ribs, check Don & Charlies on E. Camelback Rd. in Scottsdale.

Your wife would like Old Scottsdale art and crafts shops or
day trip up to Sedona, more expensive shops!
There is a nice zoo in the area also.
Just any day trip south through the mountains and Sonora desert is
worth it to me. The desert is beautiful in it's own way.

You could go to the "hole in the rock" and take in a sunset

What the wife and I love to do is wherever we go we like to check out any of the "Dinners Drive-Ins And Dives" that made Guy's show.
You need to eat a breakfast at "Matt's Big Breakfast". Rated number one for there Bacon. Best breakfast we ever had.
Be prepared for a line though. The locals and customers are really nice about it...they eat and get out so the next customer can get in. The Bacon was unreal!

You could do a ride along with the border patrol.

Rent one of the newer muscle cars for the week. We rented a Hemi Challenger. Beat the crap out of it, and made the vacation so much more fun.

Your absolutely correct! We did that when we went to SLC Utah. We rented a 2012 Mustang at the time. Drove it to Bonneville. Must of been 105 out. Had the cruise set to 100 for at least an hour and had the AC on full blast. Then we took it on the salt. On the way back, we could hear chunks of salt falling off the car. :D .That was a great trip. I love Utah

I agree with the drive up to Sedona, get on Hwy 89A. Or go to Williams and ride the train to the Grand Canyon. Also look up Antelope Slot Canyons, very unique but dusty to get there. The city of Jerome is neat to visit too. When are you going to be there?
