Building a 455 street motor prob in 425/450 horse range and have 2 alum intakes at my disposal. Performer or offy , both dual plane. Wondering if there’s any advantage over one another ? I’m thinking and believe I read somewhere on the site there about equal ? Any thoughts ? Thx guys !

I've never ran either...my offy was a single plane 360........I cant imagine at those levels the difference would be that drastic or noticable.........if one is better shape or looks better you I would use it

People either love or hate the performer. At that power level, your engine won't care

isnt offy older tec. ? I would go with the newer design. the performer will slightly angle your carb up in the back. the B4B is a stock carb location but same perfornmance as the performer. Offy is like the dinosarur version. But I dont know I never even seen an offy.

Had it on my highschool car , now on my 70 Skylark. Mild build 455 , with small valve 70 heads and a small Isky cam.
Best of 13.09 / 102.52 will be in the 12s this season if they open the track.

Pretty sure the performer will be cheaper, so I'd say go with this one ;)

The Offi is like the Poston S Divider, haven't heard much good about it. The GSCA was not impressed with it back in the day.

Offy hasn't done anything new in decades. They're selling the same stuff they sold in 1975--IF you can find someone with stock to sell. Offy seems completely intent on going out-of-business. Maybe they already have.

Some of it's fun...none of it is high-performance (any more.)

I have a Performer on my 71 GS, it ran 12.7's , ran in 10 degree weather with the surface mounted divorced choke and never leaked . I also have a B4B, they both perform well for a street strip car and I never felt the need to move to a single plane manifold. I fact, I spent the day racing against ken from Everyday Performance who had a similar, but fresher build with a single plane and our times were almost identical.

Well ... performer it is then ! I had a feeling that would be consensus but figured I’d get some input anyhow ! Thx for all responses and stay safe !

I sure wish someone would step up and develop a Performer RPM type intake for our engines.

The Sp1 is a nice manifold for its intended purpose,..I would be very surprised if a "rpm" type manifold did anything but pick a few ftlbs,...we don't need any more tq,..especially at the rpm it would deliver it

A ever so slightly cooler air charge would be present but we talking minor

Engine Masters did a test and found that it’s actually more important to keep the fuel cool than the air
