pcv turbo setup??? on Nailhead

    just put some miles on my 1966 Buick Skylark with a Nailhead and a t67 turbo with a blow thru setup. I am running into a problem with crankcase pressure. Car just started to smoke and push oil out if the valve cover gaskets. I have a valley pan underneath my intake that is already tapped for a 3/8 barb fitting and i was thinking of running a line from the valley pan to the filter air intake piping on the turbo. Hoping that would create a vacuum . Looking on running a line from the pcv on the valve cover and run it to manifold vacuum. I was looking into the mike Norris catch can but it has only 1/4 npt and wasn't sure if that will be big enough. any help or advice is appreciated. I have been reading for hours and I think this is the way I am supposed to go but want to make sure.

    Just use a one way valve from a brake booster.. You can actually epoxy the tip of the pcv valve into the brake booster valve and the problem is solved.. Then you can just use intake vacuum for the pcv..

    For the crankcase vent you can either use a chrome breater or two.. Or you can use a 90* barbed fitting in the valve cover with a 3/4" hose and route it to dump any blow by on to the downpipe.. Or a catch can..

    The 2 chrome breathers go into valve covers, weld the spigot like things into exhaust and connect with 5/8 inch hose. I needed to change the oil cap on the valve covers to something that will seal when closed. Throw away PVC system. That whole moving gas past a tube thing (they call me dr physics :Smarty:)creates the suction.

    The system works great on open exhaust, but beware of the potential for muffler contamination due to crankcase vapors (oil mist). May not be a big deal on chambered mufflers, but it may take a toll on packed mufflers over time.

    My mom (93 years old) always ask me if these old cars had mufflers. I tell her I have two but they don't work very good. :grin: I forgot what brand used but all they are is a can with baffles. Hard to hurt those but good point.

    When I do another turbo car, no mufflers.. Was way too quiet with straight through..

    Just ordered it!!
    I have weird sizes on my valve coves so I am sure I will be searching for grommets to fit. I also don't run a muffler so I am not worried, the car is really quite anyways. I am not running a lot of boost right now but tring to figure out my smoking issues. Thought I was building to much pressure but cant be because the valve cover holes are left open and still have a issue. I am thinking it is my royal purple oil I am running and might just go to a amsoil or a mobile 1 and see if it changes. thinking of going to a 10w30 or a 10w40 also. I run 5w30 now. I ran break in oil and dumped it after 25 mins. Tring to get all the bugs worked out before Lake George

    Hope it works for you. It really helped out on mine and helps with oil leaks. Also cheap.
