Has anyone used the Patriot Tight Tuck Headers on a nailhead..........................Good price for a ss header. http://www.jegs.com/i/Patriot+Exhau...zTlRfSVOpTJ79tE9TV5lwHFpyOOPWkvEpmRoCd-Pw_wcB Looks like it will fit my application.
ive seen people use them on lesabres and so forth. I think they yield very little power gains over the stockers. no first hand knowledge. me I like the look of headers so I would use them if I had a car that needed them.
Their web page says 'raw steel', I don't think they mean stainless. Ceramic coatings are an extra cost option. Fits 401-425. http://shop.patriotexhaust.com/shop...-not-applicable-401-425-not-applicable-121875 Sanderson offers something similar: http://www.sandersonheaders.com/headers_by_engine/buick/buick_nailhead There were some Riviera headers dyno tested by Erik, only worth about 5 hp. See post #203: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?115156-2x4-intake-flow-amp-performance-data/page9
Those have a 2-1/2 inch collector, just like the Sandersons. Any exhaust on the nail that can maximize the scavenging effect will help it breathe. If you want performance gains, get ahold of Steve at Get Bent Exhaust, (mr62buick here on the forum) and will make you a mandrel bent set with 1 3/4" primaries and 3” collectors! http://www.getbentexhaust.com/home.html With some time and elbow grease, I believe porting and gasket matching the stock manifolds should yield performance gains.Go with a longer collector pipe. And better to spend your money installing at least 2 1/4 in. pipes, mufflers, and tail pipes.
Don't those dump straight on the upper control arms for a full bodied car, and are only suitable for a rod type chassis?
