Parts source question

    I have a Eaton "s" spring type posi that I would like to rebuild. Other than GM what can anyone recommend for as a supplier for the frictions, steels and spring itself?

    I have never rebuilt a posi or limited slip differential but want to tackle it and learn something new. Is there a place online where I can find instructions on diassemblyassembly? None of my vehicle maintenance manuals cover rebuilding the differential.

    Thanks for any advice offered!

    Is everything needed to rebuild a GM-type posi included in that clutch kit? How about the s-spring?

    the clutch kit includes the steels and fiber clutches the spring is 12.26 "doesn't include spider gears"

    Cool! What're the part numbers, so I can order?

    From your website, I'm figuring:
    GM 231260 8.5" POSI SPRING, "S" TYPE
    YPKGM8.5-PC-E 8.5" GM S-SPRING POSI CLUTCH KIT, 2 SQUARE TABS
    Are these clutches carbon fiber, or are carbonfiber clutches available?

    Are these shims needed to swap out carriers?

    those clutches are all steels we do not offer any fiber clutches for the s-spring type posi... you can reach me at 1-800-347-1188 ext 5570
