    Evening all,

I'm looking for information, and maybe parts.

I have a 72 SunCoupe, :Brow: , with a TH350. This car may have been converted from a bench seat, non tilt column car. ??

Anyway, the P R N D L indicator on the dash does not work. It's gotta be connected to the linkage somehow, right?

To be honest, I haven't had the car all that long and I have done 0 investigation on this...

    Where do I start?

There is a small lever at the bottom of the speedometer. A small wire link connects to the steering column outer collar and moves the indicator. There is a slot in the collar and a small screw goes through it and holds the link, it is totally adjustable. Take the small trim cover under the column off and you will see what I am talking about.

You can see the lever and link in the pictures,

  3. some of them had nylon or equivalent string instead of wire. They are prone to failure if they rub the cover on the column.

Dang it.....I should have mentioned, just to be clear, this is now a console shift car.

I am familiar with the clip and screw on a column shift car.

How does this clip and wire connect to the console linkage?

It's exactly the same. The column shell is what the link connects to. That rotates the same in a console shift car.
