So, I was looking around at some old threads last night and discovered there should be a clip affixed to the radiator that holds the top overflow hose in place. Totally news to me.

A board member pointed me to TTP - and they do carry them, there's just no picture. Also, my assembly manual is at my parents, so I don't have immediate access to it.

Does anyone have a picture of this little detail they could share? Thanks in advance!

Not many of those clips survived.

No doubt! Funny thing is, I had my radiator out a few months back when I replaced the timing chain and don't remember if I saw one or not.

    I'm assuming they're universal?

Did you notice in the above picture there is no clamp on the overflow hose where it is attached to the tank? I know Jason got on you about putting one on and I almost chimed in saying I had seen a picture showing no clamp. Not sure what is correct since Jason knows his Buicks.

I Did! I thought that exact same thing last night. Haha

None if the factory renderings show a clamp on that top hose.

Oh boy! Im not gonna hear the end of that one am I? :D Ive been told I have to work on my people skills. But look how much nicer Brett's battery cables look now after I said something! :p I love spending other peoples money for them!!

Ive seen alot of cars with a clamp on that hose. Offhand, I didn't know at the time if it was supposed to have one or not. I just assumed the hose fit loose enough to warrant a clamp. But what I was getting at was that if your going to put a clamp on it, at least put the right kind. At least it will look factory even if its not. :D

From looking at the drawing, I can only assume the factory didn't because there is really no pressure on it. No chance of it blowing off like the bottom hose.

My guess is because it's supposed to be secured by that clip, there probably wasn't a need for the top clamp?

Ames Performance has them. I often look through their catalog for parts even though they are for Pontiac.

Radiator Overflow Hose Retaining Clip (RE)
    10.00/ea.
P155F clips onto the radiator tank flange to hold the hose against the tank.
However, not all 1968-72 cars used this style clip

Clamp on goes on the bottom for the pressure hose. Can be bought at a good hardware. Spring clip.

    Frank,

I have the spring clamps but am inquiring about the clamp depicted above that holds the upper hose secure against the radiator.

I always check Ames for hard to find parts since so many of the same parts were used across GM lines.
