Overdrive in the 72 Suncoupe.

Evening all,

Is there an option for the console chrome shifter plate that has some sort of overdrive indication?

 

Do you have all the gears, Park through L1? If not, you should check out shiftworks. I bought their kit for my 70 200-4R upgrade and it works great. I haven't applied it yet but it came with a black strip that has all the gears on it. I think it will work perfect on my 70 console shifter.

Thanks Greg. The shop is doing it all and getting all the parts. I'm not crazy with the looks of the gear indicator in the link you provided..I'll have another look.

I have a 72 and the chrome plate indicator setup and I have not heard of or seen anything to use for showing all gears. I have the shiftworks setup and it works great as mentioned, you just are slightly between D and N for OD. Not a big deal to me.

I'll probably add the OD and leave the indicators as they are since not much available-if anything.

Them Chevelle boys have it made.

 

I know they make one for Firebird, may be modified to fit?

 

Change of plans.....No overdrive.

Going with a TH400...sigh.

 

X2 on the shiftworks, I couldn't use there kit on my 67 but was able to purchase the selector plate.

 

Didn't go the overdrive route.
Broke the TH350- upgraded to TH400.
