It's time to dig out all yer secrets. Here's mine (see picture.) This is what happens when an F-150 pulls out in front of you to make a left hand turn. The good news was, his insurance ponied up enough for a new Robbins top (sorely needed at the time) in addition to a GS hood, new bumper, new grill, new headlight bezels, new radiator and paint. So, it was kind of a "blessing in disguise." :TU: Still, it was painfull watching the front of the hood fold upwards during the collision-not physically, just emotionally.

Post some of your bent fenders here!

Here's one for the Oldsmobile crowd on this board. :beer Gotta keep you guys entertained too!

This is the result of making a left hand turn while one lane opens a gap for you, but the guy in the next lane doesn't see you as he's flying down the road until it's too late. NEVER do that!

That's the same Buick in the first post (after the wreck) and in the avatar. Sorry, I've already sold it. :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball:

Those accidents would have been pretty nasty in one of these new plastic toys that they call "cars." My theory has always been, "you're crumple zones will be like a big pillow for my block of steel to land in.":moonu: I'll take steel over plastic anyday.

This is my 69 GS California I bought off my Aunt with the cash I had saved working the 2 previous summers. I rear ended my friends 74 Z-28 on the way to school one morning. :ball:

Pushed the nose in and bent the frame. My Dad helped me get a small loan to buy a 69 Special Deluxe, used the nose and frame and assorted other parts to redo the car over the next 3 years or so. Started the project when I was 16 and had one of those Craftsman starter tool kits with a hammer, adjustable wrench and 2 screwdrivers. Boy did I learn a lot.

Back on the road, and saving up for the paint and new rear quarters.

While we had it apart, we replaced or rebuilt everything in the driveline/suspension/brakes/rear, and did the rest of the body a year later.

Sorry to see your cars like that........ugh!:(
Judging by the pics, I would avoid any cars painted yellow/gold! :puzzled:
    What a coincidence.:jd:

Chris, yessir that's the one that started me on my way. Been a '69 man ever since.

    :Brow:

Mark, I thought it was a little too weird too. That's why I posted mine. Maybe we can warn others to beware the Cameo Yellow curse.

Funny thing. When I was picking colors for the repaint, I was thinking the bright yellow on the vette's at the time was the cat's pajama. Dicky Bell of the Bell Brothers funny car team was doing my body work and told me "ain't no way he was putting that ugly ass color on that car". He grabbed his paint chip book and flipped it open and told me, "I can have it any color I wanted as long as it was 69 buick signal red", and that was that.

    Another yellow Buick wreck

What is it with Yellow Buicks??? I was leaving a local watering hole along a river in Md (a week after installing a new 12 bolt posi), it was about nidnight and a nice dew was over everything. The valets brought my car around and as I was leaving, I lapsed into juvinile mode...I punched it hard and with the damp highly crowned road, paid the price. It was either a tree or a stone wall, I took out the tree. My avatar show the car as it looks today. No more yellow for me!
