So I'm doing my daily CL searches right now, and my search parameters are the same as always: I look for vehicles from 1900 to 1979 and that's it. Normally here in Missoula it'll pop up with 100+ cars. Today it's 27. Kalispell will normally be in the 80s. Again today it's 27. Spokane is usually around 500-600, and it's just over 100 today. Seattle is generally around 1400+ and today it's only 563. Making some easy searching, but I feel like I'm missing a bunch of "potential". I've checked and rechecked my searches and tried it on both my phone and work computer and same thing....Did some rich car guy come through the Northwest and buy up everything that was half way reasonable? Somebody just flagging like crazy around here for no reason? Guys that do this type of thing every day, are you having the same issue?
It’s because they’re now charging $5 per ad in ‘By Owner’. I heard they were going to do it but forgot until I saw what you did-seems to have cut ads by 70-80%. Patrick
Thanks for the answer, Pat. I had no idea that was going to happen. That SUCKS! Guess my searches are going to go a lot quicker now, and I'll have a lot less to dream or scheme about.....

Hahahaha.....I never know what I'm looking for until I see it. I most certainly was not looking for a 1970 Coupe Deville when I bought it, I was on the hunt for a first Gen Riviera at the time. That one had to wait a couple years but came next. I mostly just look to look, and share the ones worth sharing here on the board. Plus, I'm always helping at least 2 or 3 other people try to find cars.
I guess that would explain why I'm seeing car ads in the auto parts section. Not a lot, but enough to take notice.
Auto parts still no charge? Never had much success with them (lots of scam/spam) but still an avenue. They should have an option where one can post in multiple locations at once say up to say ten. Still really not sure where they make money even after watching that video by eatsleepdrivetv. Maybe it is employers being the main source of revenue for them.
Well that sucks. I had a tab open for a couple days for a 1971 Skylark that I looked at for another member here. The Ad disappeared and said expired. It was only a couple weeks old.
I've put an ad up for parts for sale 3 different times over 6 months time and have only received about 6-8 replies
Now, if they would only charge the tire/wheel stores who post their entire inventory using hundreds of keywords...
Yep , looked over car ads Thursday at work , wow , what a difference . A couple listings in one area instead of 20 or 30 . When I looked for a truck a couple years ago I had a list of 20 to look over and contact people . Be hard pressed now to have 3 .
Other than a couple scammers, I have had little response on any of my CL ads. I do research and I know my prices aren't too high.
I sold my camper on craigslist in one day, 3 separate people came and made offers. Sold a few other items quickly with no issues also. Sucks that the cars for sale section has now been killed.
