    Hi,

If you want a restored one just wait to see the one they found in Mexico, as I understand the shop who found it were going to do a full restoration on it. Bet it ends up a Mecum or another auction house.

A few years ago there was a clone 68 Charger on ebay, though they wanted big bucks, go figure.

    Regards,

I saw the movie Bullet at the theater when it first came out. (Around the same time my father had a yellow '68 Dodge Charger RT) Notice in the movie only one rear wheel on the Mustang spins. The newly released article says it had a 4.10 limited slip differential. Perhaps. I also saw McQueen in The Great Escape when it first came out, an equally exciting movie. I would travel anywhere to go see the Bullet Mustang.

Death by dropping a 1970 Electra on their head! That would be the proper punishment to fit the crime IMHO.

The first time I saw Bullitt was in the early 70's. I was over a friend's house and he knew about the chase and we stayed up late to watch it on a rabbit eared, color console, located in his parents basement. Although I was already reading a lot of car magazines and building car models, I think that movie put a permanent car "hook" in me.

Sometimes, if I can't fall asleep at night, I count the hubcaps flying off the Charger.

Its one of those movies you can watch a 100 times and have it be interesting every time.

Some of the others are- Vanishing Point, The French Connection, the Seven Ups, and Two Lane Blacktop

Those are some good ones, I still watch from time to time

A few more to the list, White Lightning, Gumball Rally, Smokey and the Bandit (I know but I grew up in the mid-70's), Blues Brothers, Hot Rod (1979-TV aka Rebel of the Road)

All those early car movies with a chase scene, but I think Bullitt was the one that started it all

Corvette Summer - nice chase between a God awful custom Corvette and a black Formula Firebird with a Trans Am shaker scoop

White Lighning is a good flick. The Custom 300 4 door "shine runner" the Feds give Gator was supposedly a 4 speed. If you catch the interior shot of the Hurst shifter, its a 71-73 Mustang dash! In another scene you can see Gator throw it in park from the column!

"Guy in the body shop wants to know what you did to the undercarriage on that car".... "I told you, I just dinged it up a little bit"

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot isn't a car movie, but it has some cool cars in it. The 80s or early 90s version of a movie called "catch me if you can" is a good one most people don't know. High school kid races a chevelle against other muscle cars. Hollywood knights and American Graffitti, obviously.....oh, and dazed and confused.

Hollywood Knights! So the Cobra used in that movie was CSX3285 that was owned at the time by Ernie Nagamatsu. Ernie also owns the original "Old Yeller II" which was built by Max Balchowski who set up the 2 Bullitt Mustangs!

As a side note, in the race between the 57 Chevy that Tony Danza drove (Car Craft's Project X), the Chevy blew its engine as evidenced by the smoke that goes over the roof. Like that supercharged Chevy had a snowballs chance in hell in beating that Cobra. Silly Chevy guys....

My co-worker is building a white Lightning tribute car. She got it a few months ago, will likely be done by summer. Odd combo with brown exterior and blue interior! It's just getting a 351 for now. I'll have to ask her about the 'stang dash!!
She and hubby also have Starsky Hutch and General Lee clones. Both are exceptionally done.

    Others:
    Crazy Mary Dirty Larry
Sex drive. Not too bad for a 2008 movie. Features a GTO Judge.

Back to topic.... I wonder what the '18 Bullit will go for?

What the sticker price will be or what the dealership will hold you up for with the additional dealer markup? Freaking crooks. Jennifer wanted a GT-350 in th worst way. She couldn't find a dealer anywhere that would sell it to her unless she gave the dealer 10 grand in cash

Agreed. It would cease to be the BULLITT Mustang.

    Bullitt influence?

The season 11 X-Files opener had a chase scene with 'good guy' Mulder in a Mustang being chased by 'bad guy' in a black Charger. I bet a Bullitt fan on the production staff had something to do with the choice of cars!
