After two-years of working on my '64 Skylark, I found a copy of the original bill-of-sale in a box of spare hubcaps that came with the car.

How's this for a price? On April 1, 1964, Victoria M. Kochanek of Needham, MA paid a base price of $2751. Unfortunately, Victoria didn't want the standard transmission, so she paid an additional $198 to get the ST300. Other "options" included power steering and brakes, an AM radio, back-up lights, windhield wipers and pump, "oversize" white wall tires, bucket seats and seat belt retractors.

    Total price = $3366.85

Seems like a steal, doesn't it?

Jeez...if we could just buy a car that wasn't a roller for that much...

Reminds me, I was going through a bunch of papers from my great grandmother's house when she passed away and I gound a bill of sale for a 53 Packard. He paid $800 for it...the car was 2 years old when he bought it used. Those were the days...:Dou:

My parents were going through some old paperwork about ten years ago. Dad found the Bill Of Sales for his brand new 55' and 56' Chevy's. I think the 55' was around $1500.
