Getting ready to sell my 67 Riv. Should I repaint valve covers, intake mainifold, etc or leave original untouched for next owner to decide what to do? (Air cleaner paint is original and perfect so either way not painting it) My son says paint but I feel original on a 51 yr old car is cool. Which way would I get more money?
If the rest of the car is original, keep it original. If the rest is redone and repainted, I'd detail out the engine bay, too.
You will be opening up a can of worms. Once you see how good those look, then you'll see all of the other items that need attention...and before you know it you're pulling the engine and painting everything.
Car was repainted 20 yrs ago and interior totally done as well but engine never touched. Maybe I'll take a pic to help decide......
Air cleaner and valve covers are very nice. The rest of the engine needs to match them. Just the opinion of this guy, who doesn't know squat.
Ok detail it... Take what you can out clean it paint it.... Use foil around engine area to not get paint on other items...here is my buddies Trans am I did with a quick little cleaning up...
