Well... the time has come to get the car done.. Ive procrastinated 13 years, while selling every car and anything parts off. So,as I doubt I'll ever find my 1st GS again, she was a special order GS350 with T400 and 3;42 gears in this lifetime, I'm gonna change my car to enjoy it rather than worry about its value.. I'm looking for a '71 BB trans and OO rear end...I guess I'll be needing the larger AC pully as well. thanks for looking ! J

Isn’t LWB correct for 1971? They didn’t have the OO code in 1971. I thought he was looking for 1971 parts,but the OO is for 1970.
Yes LWB 3.42 is correct for 71 that's the rear he would be looking for. I was just getting the rear code, an gears correct for 1970. Good luck with you sale Brian, OP I bought a complete rebuilt LWB rear from Brian last year I will be installing it in the car some time this year.
You are correct my mistake on that rear code.... Always have OO in my head for some reason... All my 70's are long gone
If for some reason I don't find a clean 3:42 rear... I will likely simply go with a 3:08 posi and a BA code tranny. It's so weird, my GS has all kinds of options, but no posi.. Not the first like that though.
I have a very nice LWB 3:42 posi rear. I got the housing back from getting it powder-coated earlier this week. I should have it reassembled within a week.
