    Hi Folks,

    I have been lurking in here for a while but I wanted to announce that after several months of work I have released a BETA version of my online cowl tag decoder DataTagConverter.Com. It is still a work in progress, but I am hoping that over time it will be useful to the classic car community as a whole. That said, there may be missing codes and incorrect data so I hope that anyone who has a moment to try it out and finds something wrong to contact me at the email below. In the coming weeks there will be a "pretty" version released so follow me at the below for periodic updates.

    Everyone is encouraged to participate in the Data Tag Decoder Beta if you have any GM product (except trucks) from 1964-1972.

    ++All feedback is welcome!

    Thanks for the bump Bad Boattail. Did you have a chance to use it and if so, how did it do for you?

    Data tag paint codes are numbers and letters(ie, 13-13 or 13-A), I only get letters as an option to input under paint/body.

    Great idea BTW!! Sure solve a lot of the "can you help me decode this...." posts... :)

    pretty slick. makes quick work of decoding. do the letters for options code need to be in exact order?
    I have a "BGO" and the "O" is in the first ACC set of codes.
    Inputs as OBG.

    Wish It would save input when you click the back button.
    Or, an edit button to reselect the options ect.

    Overall it's great. thanks for taking the time to build this and sharing for it with us.

    Certainly takes a lot of the guess work out of cowl tag decoding !! :TU:
    Some body numbers have a 3 alpha character code - ie: EUC, instead of a single alpha character ?
    Under the 'Paint entries' - there is no provision for numeric vinyl top colour codes ?
