Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Easy low 13s stone stock for a Magnum SRT8 . Do nice burnouts too. Can't wait for the Challenger and try it.

Stock Hemi Rams run 15s stock. I've heard the Hemi SRT8 cars run somewhere in the 13s stock. Fast for a new car.

Correct. If it don't say SRT then have no fear. Unfortunitely, the owner of them HEMI cars just assume that it must be the fastest thing on the street because it says HEMI. Just takes a Buick stomping to bring them back down to earth.

Oh hell, I've creamed them in my 66 Charger with a 440. I actually had one guy say, after I :spank: him in his new non-SRT HEMI Charger, that he was going to go get a 440 and shitcan that HEMI.

If you have a stock Hemi SRT car then you have a damn good chance against most stock muscle cars. Like I said before, I'd love to get smoked by an old Buick in my Hemi truck. It would be an honor!

I have raced a couple of SRT's. One SRT-8 Jeep with the GN, not much of a contest. Another, Magnum SRT-8, with Xlark at Milan. He was running low 13's and I was running 12.70's so not much of a contest there. At least the guy with the Magnum was at the track using it. I hear that the rear end and trannys are weak. A new limited slip for on is $1700  Someone may make some bucks setting up Dana 60's for these things. Don't know what they are going to do with the trannys.

Pickup truck Hemis on the street are like Mustangs. Most think they are bad and I have yet to run into one that can turn 14's. If I wanted a fast pickup truck I would find a used Ford Lightning.

Well, you cant compare a used truck to a new truck. Especially a supercharged truck to a non supercharged truck. If I wanted just a fast truck, I'd start with a Dakota or an S-10 or a Ranger (whatever flavor you prefer) and tear it apart and make a fast truck for way less than a used lightning even. I'm just sayin for what my truck is it is pretty quick for a brand new, stock truck. I'm not claiming it will keep up with any muscle car or a turbo buick or even a gt mustang. I don't really care. It's a truck. I was just saying that a fast, stock muscle car and a stock srt8 car would be a decent race. They both should run in the 13s. I didn't buy my truck to have the fastest truck around.

Hey Sailbrd, My truck is 100% stock without a muffler and I ran 14.81 @ 90.53. They easily run 14s. 4800lbs with me in it. Not bad for a stock truck.

When the Hemi trucks first came out they were showing up at the local car show like it was a big deal. I just shook my head and didn't bother to look.

YAWN! Same thing with the new mustangs. I don't wanna see new cars at a car show. I could go to the dealership for that.

And what gets me is that in car shows people actually vote for these things! Nevermind the guys with the real classics who have toiled over their pride and joy for years, and invested their own blood, sweat and tears........let's award the new crap that's stiil under the manufacturer's warranty! :spank: And the sad part of the whole thing is, after you stand on your tippy-toes to get a glimpse of the engine compartment, underneath that maze of electrical wiring and hoses, you really can't even see the "hemi" that's supposed to be in there anyhow! :moonu: :Dou:

This just seemed like a good place to put this I'm 19 in college with my fire engine red 69 Skylark and I'm not married; life is good. I think one of my favorite things to hear is "Wow, (insert gorgeous female students boyfriends name) its a Buick, and a really pretty one too. I thought Buicks were old people cars" then I love to reply,"usually, but not this kind; wanna go for a ride.":TU:
Usually I hate fingerprints on my paint but I can live with it when its one of my fellow female coeds giving the old Buick a message I can live with it.
Cheers to the Big Bad Buick!:beers2:

If you want to see my 66 GS convertible in deplorable condition, go over to Ernie's auto body in San Marcos, and ask about the old Buick they've got outside with the windows out. I've been working to get it back for around 5 years. I bet they won't want to show it to you....Dan

Another thing to add. A guy on a hemi site posted his stock times for his SRT* jeep. 12.9. I said BS. I took my truck to the track that same week and there was a brand new jeep SRT8 running 12.92s.

12s in a stock SUV??? Come on that's impressive.
