Haven't been on the board much lately and am sad to see the women haven't been gossiping on here much lately. WHERE ARE YOU?

    MERRY CHRISTMAS GALS!

You don't call, you don't write, we've been forming a search party to come looking for you!!
We've felt neglected, cast aside, scratched over with kitty litter-like last years lutefisk!!
*There*, I've admonished you for deserting us, er, are you having adequate amounts of fun down there?!?

I've been lurking around the Bench, mostly. There've been some interesting threads about cats and such there.

Lutefisk? Do you really eat that stuff? I thought it was used as repellant of some sort.

    Happy holidays, you guys!

    Re: MIA

Been having sooooo much fun that it's hard for me to get on the board much. Didn't mean to neglect you gals.

I do have a bit of gossip though. I'm hoping to get another Buick soon. Can't say much about it at the moment but would be getting it from someone I know. He's had other interest in it but hopefully he knows how much I like the car and will lean favorably my way. Of course I don't have the money for it, but you know how the car thing goes. Already stopped eating to pay the bills. Don't know what else I can cut out. :eek2: I'll hopefully have a car that I'll be able to race soon. Been out of racing waaayyyy too long. Need all your positive thoughts flowing my way so maybe I'll have another "baby" in the driveway! :TU:

    Dee

P.S. If he doesn't take my offer, can you gals help me out by helping me rough him up a little?

ShariB-I did get invited over to some peoples house about 20 years ago for Lutefisk! I jumped at the chance. I really like trying foods from other peoples cultures. I thought the "buildup" was greatly overblown and I liked it!! I hope I have a chance to eat it again.
BTW-the suggestion for duck grease hair conditioner was great!! We cackled about that over at my friends place (Thanksgiving.) The duck was great, it must have been on the Atkins diet. I did not end up with nearly enough hair conditioner-maybe 1/4 to 1/2 soup can is all. Very unusual!!
Dee: I hope you are able to get your car-keep us posted!! I think we know of a real good name for it, don't we!! I'm playing it right now.
Geez, I don't know how well I'd do with roughing anyone up. I just can't imagine anyone being intimidated by being attacked by a stringbean. Maybe I can import some piano wire?? Garrote?? (Go look THAT one up!!) I have some broken strings off my violin!!
I am sort of looking as well. Have a garage stall that needs filling. Perhaps more silver birds for me some day!!

    Patty,

What's all this Lutefisk stuff? I guess us Texans don't know about that stuff. :Do No:

I need another garage because my 2 car garage is full with 2 convertibles, got the Z under the car port and the SC in the driveway. The new one I'm looking at is another convertible, so don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe move the Z out and park the 'vert under the carport? I know I don't need another car, but it is a sickness!!! :gt: I just can't help myself. Got cars that I should spend the money on, but just want one more, just one more!!! Did I mention I'm stone broke but just got to find a way to get it??!!! It's a good race car and I really, really need it! I miss racing!!!

Garrote??? Sounds like something I'd say when I smash my finger!!!

I think you need more silver birds just like I need more GS's! What's the name you came up with for 'er? I was thinking about borrowing MANEATER for my Texas plate!

    Dee

UPDATE: :moonu: I got to drive the big Buick 455 at lunch today. All I can say is NICE!!! Never had a big block before. Might be too much engine for me - Nah!!!! Going to make my decision tonight and let him know tomorrow.

    Decision?

So, Dee - what did you decide?

I have a 455, and I love the power. We're getting another engine worked over this winter, to get more horsepower out of it. So it should be even more fun....

Patty - what exactly is lutefisk? And how did it taste? I'm half Swedish, and at the old Xmas Eve Smorgasbord's I couldn't tolerate creamed or pickled herring. So I can't even imagine lutefisk!

    Mmmm!! Lutefisk!!

It isn't part of my heritage but how does dried cod reconstituted in caustic soda (lye) sound?? It has been so very many years ago that I had it. I do remember the fish, potatoes, and a white gravy. Just envision a very pale plate!! I don't remember it stinking up their house and the lutefisk itself did not have any strange taste. I would have remembered that with my skewed sense of humor! Maybe I would put some paprika on the table to offset the lovely white landscape on the plate?? A young guy who worked for me had invited me over to have all the traditional seasonal foods his mom made. She must have worked for days (weeks??) over this, it was really awesome. I got a lot of recipes for all sorts of things from her. Really sweet lady.
I dig herring! Prefer the cream style but the other is ok too. That was something I had all the time growing up. Have some in the 'fridge now!!

If you get bored you can scope out this place! Mmmm, Lutefisk!!

You 2 have me out-gunned in the car department. But that's ok, what the heck-if you need a Rear Admiral/tail gunner just look in your rearview mirror!

Dee: I just *assumed* you would use that name!! Maybe we need an east and west coast gal to carry on the tradition of Buick girls with chutzpa!

    Well, :3gears: :3gears: :3gears: !!!!!!!

Does that answer your question? MANEATR it will be, soon!!!

Runs good, just needs a little TLC. Already fixed some of the interior wiring that needed to be done, scraped an old bumper sticker off the back, and some other little things. Needs a new top, so that's coming next.

It's a lot more power than I'm use to. Lots different than my '70 Skylark granny mobile! Now I will have to try to remember my "raceway etiquette". It's been 15 years since I've been to the track and that was with my 350 '72 Skylark and 350 'Z28. There's no backroads around here to test this car out, so guess I'll have to get my nerve back up and go to the track in front of all the guys to try 'er out.

I don't know of any West and East coast gals to join our group. Maybe they'll pop up someday! I popped up after being out of the 'car business' for a long time, so maybe they will too!

About the lutefisk.... I think I'll stick with fried catfish instead. Us Texans like fried catfish! :beer

Sorry 'bout that!! :Brow:  After driving behind that car all the way to the Buick Bash, I had already fallen in love with it. He had already promised me the hood if he got a fiberglass one. So when he put it up for sale, I had to jump on it.

You guys always get all the good cars up there in the "northern" states. Us Texans have dibs on all the Texas cars first. :beer

    Merry Christmas!
