My buddy tells me today he has a posi setup with 373 gears that came out of an Olds. I get it and bring it home to clean it up to verify. Here are the rough specs:
Carrier from outside bearing to outside bearing- 7.25" tall
    ring gear- 7.6"
    Carrier splines- 26
    Pinion splines- 27
    Gear counts- 11 & 41

Is this thing an S10 and not an Olds?

Don't think he would lie about it. He just didn't know better. I never paid him anything, but elected to wait for verification of it. After checking it, I now know it will not work for my car. Got excited to find something I thought I could use. I'll have better luck next time (yeah right). Now to take this thing back to him.

Older A-body Olds's have a 8.5" ring gear diameter. The newer G-body's are 7.6". That could be a late model Hurst Olds or 442 rear.
