My new race car has been running on 20w50 Lucas racing oil, I Cant get that over here but can get Valvoline synthetic racing oil and Sunoco mineral racing oil, both 20w50. I lean to the synthetic instead of mineral. The motor is running big clearences, otherwise I would had been running 10w60 racing oil as on my other cars.
Let me hear your thoughts, thanks.

    Jan,

Check with local business that specialize in 60's-70's American HP engines... they should have the stuff in stock for their own use, and will often sell it, even if they don't advertise it.

I know if a dozen HP machine shops in my area that do this.. and yes, won't be as common over there, but you only need to find one.

    Good luck

    JW

First, thanks for a nice conversation.. Second, the guy I know who sold the Royal Purple, also used the QMI engine treatment together with the oil.. In my opinion, it's the best oil around, specifically if you doesn't have a flat tappet cam..

A guy I work with, was a mechanic at a Citron raceteam, and they tried Royal Purple in their cars with a little bit better result than any other oil they've tried, but because the price weres 3 times more expensive, and they've changed oil after each run, they don't use it..

Thanks, always nice to learn something new. That QMI looks interesting, will dig further into it.
