Here is an update from my previous post about oil pressure problems with my broken blown nailhead. This is what I have determined from some testing and teardown examination of my nailhead:
    1. I pulled the dizzy and ran the pump with a drill motor. Oil comes out both sides with good pressure to feed the rockers, so I believe the front cam bearing is good.
    2. My one head with the broken rocker has several valve guides that are worn and the valves can be rocked sideways, not good.
    3. My best guess is that something blocked the oil passage in the rocker shaft, which caused it and the head problems. My friend that owned the car should have shut the engine down sooner and maybe the damage would have been less.
    4. My cam and lifters look OK, so I will leave them in place. Pushrods seem OK as well.
    5. I pulled the oil pan and did not find any real bad metal particles or other junk in the bottom of the pan. The bottom end rods and mains look good with no apparent problems.
    6. I will pull both heads and get them rebuilt, the "good" head just to get freshened up and the "bad" head to get new guides and maybe new valves installed if needed.
    7. I have another set of rocker shafts that I found to put on the engine.

Although I am disappointed that the heads require rebuilding, the damage could have been worse. I am glad that the oil feeds from the front cam bearing indicating that the problem is restricted to the top end. Now just need to get the heads to Jim Burek (PAE) so he can repair them, then bolt them back on the engine and then set the engine back into the car.
