If your motor is new Use the Driven or maxim oils Valvoline racing is good but its got a shelf life from what I understand
For break-in, I use Driven Break in 10W-30. It has a good amount of ZDDP, and no detergent (so the additives are not "cleaned away". After break-in, I change to the 10W-30 "racing oil" as well as change the filter, and cut the break-in filter and inspect the media for particulates. The few dollars I expend compared to the time and money on a build and giving the best break in I can is well-spent effort and resources. I do this even for "roller" engines. Growing up in the earlier years of drag racing, and having spent my first career in military aircraft maintenance, I learned a great deal about a lot of things that have served me well. And I am not ashamed to tell of "looking over the shoulders" of the folks who are continually successful in their game. Share what you know. Knowledge kept to oneself is a burden to carry. Share it freely. You still have all you did before you shared it, and you enriched another in the process. Heck, you might even make a friend for life.
