I'm not too sure the trim off of a 4dr. will work on your 2dr. Doors and quarters are not the same proportions between the two. How would you get around that?

I hate to burst your bubble, Bill. But, That's not a real junkyard, they don't mow between the cars in a real junkyard. In a real junkyard you trip on stuff walking around!

Yeah Nick... I shouldve been more specific and said a 66-67 POST Coupe Even if the door length need trimming or what ever, the SS trim is way more durable and "polishable" than the cheezy aluminum stuff... but I guess thats what made them "special" LOL... Another quest LOL. Like figgerin' out stuff with upgrades!

Yo Frank... I think ol' Carl wanted to be a landscaper in his past. No order whatsoever to the "rows" but the paths are pretty evenly mowed. I suppose after being born and raised in that little house, he knows where every single crankshaft lies 1/2 buried. Tonnage with old farm tractors and combines' kinda stuff abounds as well; farm country ya know... There was a pretty nice, from what I could see, 57-58 Fairlane (?) convertible parked inside a school bus that the back end was hacked off of. The bus was probably a 1950 IHC. "Cornbinder" up here!

Another yard nearby is in totally overgrown woods. The owner was driving me through 4 foot tall grass in a "gator" quad, when all of a sudden we came to an abrupt stop. "Thats where I left that Olds 400 turbo" he mentioned and casually backed up and drove around it. I was holding on for real after that!

Dontcha love exciting expeditions??? Next time I'll bring the pith helmet and the ol' .45-70 along for some practice haha... ws

Got my new mirror mounting kit today from CARS. No doubt its a 3D printed base direct from the gulag. At least the base is curved to match the door top.
Shifter rod installed along with new belts, and even got some trim mounted today; 1/3 of the set (2 pcs outa 6). Gonna put up a for sale ad for a bunch of '64 Skylark parts. Take a look... ws

Random cruising nights seems to be the "in" thing to do these days and even up here thats' no exception. I dont really do FB too much, if at all, but Pat sent me a link to the Covid 19 summer cruise 2020. The local parade and show "Cool City Classics", altho postponed till August will probably still be a no-go. The gal is gonna be outa town that weekend and I may need a driver for the 72 XGS. Not sure if my pal from Dwight, Il. can make it up here. He's still freaked out by the chinaflu thing. Should be a decent turn out. ws

Fast forward to now... My pal showed up from Dwight , IL. to drive the '72, and pat and I ran the '64 and gave her a good thrashing! "Only" first gear stuff with all the traffic. Probably, being realistic, between 500-1000 cars showed up. 25% of that was coffee can turbo things blasting WOT with the waste gate wide open... Hissing and Farting was pretty well drowned out by the 465" at 5000 in first. Actually shamed one kid off the street onto a side street. AHHHH !!

Pretty dis organized, but also "relatively" well behaved. Cabin fever played a big part; crotch rockets doing wheelies all over and the farm boys rolling coal all over town with only two squad cars seen. One coal roller 4X4 did a "sextuplet" smoker burnout. Four tires and two stacks. Kinda stupid, but what the heck. We went back in the morning and there were several 4x4 burnouts with piles of rubber on the road. Gotta love kids that get free tires, right? The last pic was an abandoned store parking lot that seemed to be the staging area. Ill gaurantee some of those stripes were from the floggin' LOL!

Theres a few pics here for Frank! The mirror is vibration free and I had to put a blind man mirror on top, but now I can back into the rear shop (200 feet around fences, garage, bushes etc) effortlessly. An old Gent and his bride in the original owner 442 W30!
Theres supposed to be a Two Rivers cruise night June 26th-ish for about 10 miles and a stop downtown for dinner. Freedom is shining here in TR! The TR cruise for a cause is for a food pantry in town. Cash or food donations; its run by our credit union.

Good times were had by all... ws

Glad ya like it Frank! Only one judge (a good pal-o-mine) commented about the blind guy mirror; sure made driving backerds a lot easier! Any funny biz going on in toytown?
Can ya ID this hitch? Garage sale stuff had a bunch of loose smalls for a '64 chevelle. I tried it on the '64 and the gas filler is in the way. Maybe for a wagon?? Im gonna ask Biquette...

Anyone here watch Oak Island? Got this little gem for 2.00! Think back 500 years and look up lost ship GRIFFON. That was built within 50 miles of here and actual location is unknown. Found it on a nail in a 200 year old barn being taken down. ws

Well, we're not staying in Toytown right now. We should be, because it's nowhere near any action. We're at our house near Providence RI. Yeah...it was like a war zone around here at night. Last night they looted the mall in Providence. Brockton is the next closest city, and stuff going on there and Boston right now. We're not real close to anything here where we live. I know...no politics, but nobody wants this stuff. Around here right now the whole car scene is totally shut down. No shows, no cruises, you don't even see more than 2 classic or enthusiasts cars together any place.
So what is that 2.00 gem? Is that a spear head?

Its a 400 year old cast iron swage for forming wrought iron rock drills and other blacksmith tools. Crude enough to be made on site and yet be functional to for what ya need. Oval tapered hole for a wood handle; about 3/4- 1" thick. LaSalle and company travelled here by canoe for beaver pelts around 1600(?), and hand built the GRIFFON. It sailed and was lost and never to be found yet. These swages were turning up on Oak Island. Its also a link to inland viking travel that provided the Nords with copper for bronze for Michigans upper penninsula. Lots of history in a steel rock! ws

I did look up Le Griffon and saw it was loaded with furs. But, I still couldn't figure out what that item was. I've watched the Oak Island show off and on over the years. Truth is, I never even knew where it was. At first it seemed interesting, but then it seemed to get real hokey with draining the swamp, and the secret Masonic money pit vault, etc. Kind of like when they opened Al Capone's vault years ago. I'm not a big fan of "reality" shows, because they are never really "real". Thanks for explaining about the tool. I suspect the ship has never been found because the furs are toast, and probably nothing else of extreme value was on the ship. If it was laden with gold, they would have been all over it by now! I know zip about the hitch, Bill. Often they are marked for aps.

Thanks for the hitch tip Frank... didnt see anything and didnt buy it. If anyone is interested I do have a contaact to call the estate liquidators and see if it sold.

Yeah... all the reality shows pretty much blow. The narrator especially gets my goat..." Gold? On Oak Island?"... "A French uniform button? On Oak Island?" Always with a stupid inquisitive over voice... ws

BSS9 title 080.jpg Today was a sad day for me and Pat. Our 11 year old Boston "Bullitt the wonder dog" yeah like Frank, passed away after a 2 day old diagnosis of canine leukemia. He struggled to the very end and while on my lap, he looked up and as if to say "I'm Sorry" took his last breath and passed. We buried him in the raspberry patch next to the shop with the BADLASS. I promise to say "Hi" every time I go out there.

All you bastards with dogs better go give them a cookie and some love...This is when the Bullitt Guy was 4 months old. Im devastated. ws

Sorry for your loss, Bill and Pat. Chopper is getting closer and closer, and seeing things like this reminds me to stop and pay him the love and attention he deserves. Bullitt will be waiting with a wagging tail for you, whenever you meet again.

This is Pat, thank you. Unfortunately we are counting days on another dog. Chewbacca is 13 and not doing good. Never expected Bullitt to go 1st. But maybe Chewbacca will live another year. Don't know. Just love them while you can.

Sorry to hear your loss too. Peace to all our pets. Had to put one of our dogs down about a year ago. Right after our cat probably got eaten. Went to the cat rescue and got sister kittens. Bottle fed babies. Orphaned so early. One has one eye. They are a year and a half now. I believe in the positive energy of pets.
