I actually saw that listing. Not too bad a price for the package. I didn't imagine he would separate stuff to sell, I didn't try to contact him.
You done good! Those horse shoe moldings don't come up real often, especially in nice condition. And when they do they're usually a bit pricey. From the pics, it looks like the stuff you got isn't too bad.
All that rear panel trim is Skylark, but it will dress up the back of your Special!

AH HA!!... got it today, and Id hafta rate it at just above driver quality. A few minor pits and a slight ding in the horizontal valance trim piece, but pretty darn good otherwise. One tail light rates a 95 (slight pitting) and the other is a 100. One of my tail light trim rings was cracked and both of these are about 95+%. All the chrome and aluminum finishes are "bright". It was packed with care as well; "bullet proof".
The rest is available from this guy as individual parts. If youre interested, Ill be happy to forward his contact #'s to you. A 1x1x48 box was 36.00 from Indiana and he ate the 500.00 insurance. Cant beat that! Pics later... ws

Maybe you can be the first to do a tonneau cover hood to keep things dry under the hood if in you get caught in the rain?

Would definitely be different and you could keep it in the trunk when it wasn't raining if you wanted to.

Went to the pistol range yesterday... Pat and I are now confirmed members. You should see her speed load that Ruger SP101! Went junking after that. 'Ol farm boy has tons of old cars buried in the woods. Took his "gator" out back and found a donor for the '64 back end for 50.00 with him cutting it off. Such a deal. Otherwise been trying to beat the heat in the new AC 'd domicile LOL. Its been a blistering 78F here. Cant handle that heat and dew point in the mid 60's.
Check out the new Buick's ABS ... They finally got away from a ECU controlled system and rely on human interaction. Soon to be perfected. Notice the outside drum band parking brake.

Just takin' a breather for a bit. The heats' been getting us down, like 78F and a 75* dewpoint in the hood... unbearable! Had a small tornado blast just north of here and there were a lot of outages. Just before all this happened Achmed my computer guy (Atiq) shows up with my almost new (he builds them) desktop for the shop. He does the house calls for 20.00 too. This guys got 20 jigs of rim and all the doo-dah stuff, installed and running on a wireless tractor beam(!) for 75.00. Im online in the shop now!! Gonna knock a hole in the wall for a 10K window unit. Cant get anything done in this heat!

The storm hit and with the steel overhead door closed still ran at 95-100%. The open door pic was at noon. Then the sky opened up. Salami in the Lincoln! ws

So ya thought you were rid of me LOL... Been pretty busy playing catchup on some house issues. Painted the inside of the house in 2012 and it needed it again. Started out with the Clown Cave hah... Originally did a real pale lemon yellow, and now went Canary Clown Yellow. .. Its growing on us.

Meanwhile the new tags showed up for the '64. Only Wisconsin would send a package like this... ws

The plate is cool Bill! The mirror...go on the Classicoldsmobile.com site PM oldspackrat (Scott) I think he stocks/swaps them like maybe 85. or something. He uses the real glass, so the mirror acts right in the day/night mode. I have one here that the world famous "mirror lady" did. She was supposed to be the best. Anyways...I bought one from her, and in the heat one day the mirror got loose, like she glued it with silicone or something. I think I know where it is, I'd let it go cheap if you think you can fix it.

Thanks Frank... let me know the deal OK... I picked up a black '72 driver quality job but I'd really like some new glass for it. BAD LAD and BADLASS made for each other! ws

So... taking a break from painting, hardy har har, I put the new plates on along with a NEW!!! bench bled master cylinder. Got rid of the hardass pedal, but now its almost on the floor with rear brakes only. I pulled the hose outa the booster and have excellent vacuum at the booster end, and plugged in, theres no hissing noise. I am guessing the booster is good.

AND NOW FOR THE EXSPURTS! So this GD car came with a single master cylinder. I converted over to a dual unit with ALL new lines and hoses, new wheel cylinders on the back with new shoes. I am now on #7 new master cylinder. What am I doing wrong??? With all the MC's, they all leaked at the back seal except for 2.
Both of those had a rock hard pedal.
One felt like normal power brakes (GOOD), but that bastard was a leaker.

Changed brands and am now going with (my 2nd) Cardone unit. First one didnt leak but had a hard ass pedal. Save me from reading the book, Wizards! Changing over from the old to new, is there a primal adjustment to make on the brake pedal rod Im missing? I have new shoes and WC's for the front. Ill probably change them first. Those have to come apart via the wheel bearings. Just another crappy chapter in mein kampf. ws

I'm definitely no expert, but seems like I've heard the proportioning valve has to be changed. I don't remember if you mentioned doing that. Just a thought.

No prop valve on 4 wheel drums. Its a simple "T" installation with a pressure differential switch for a "BRAKE" indicator light. Thats on a '68 T splitter. Nothing on a '64. If an exspurt pipes up maybe we can clarify that point. I'm game for some info!

After all this stuff going on, my 35 Y.O case of labyrinthitis showed up again and is kickin' me arse!... ws

Ok, I was thinking that was the case with single master. And thought when you change to a dual master it needed the newer proportioning valve and dual brake lines. Again, no expertise here, just throwing out some stuff hoping I can learn something here too.

Hope you finally got your hands on a good MC this time.

Me too! Got the office painted today and Pat gave me the day off. Gonna take the chinasucker and pull juice through 100%; makes it pretty simple. I just need to get through the summer and then this winter Ill have a grasp on whats needed after a summer of running.

Looking at some sheet metal work and some paint. BADLASS deserves a little lace work on the sail panels, some new rugs and a little finesse work on some odds and ends. Stupid summer is winding down here already it seems like.

Lotsa work today, so Im tuned up, turned on and dropped out. Valders Wi. car show is Sunday and we need to get there! ws

So.... put the ol' chinasucker on the front wheel cylinders today and VOILA! Brakes, and power at that!! Bled the rears too. May still be a pinch of air onboard tho. So as I am suckin' and filling the reservoir, I notice that the juice has a purplish tint to it. Jah! ich bin eine schwartzkopf! It was DOT 5 from the HD brakes. had to blow all that out and replace with DOT 3. Got to go out for a spin finally AND be able to stop! Hitting a smallish local car show in Valders tomorrow with both kissin' cousins. Hmmm...

Got cancer from a godamn china power strip. Washed my hands with soap and rum and drank the leftovers... it went away.

Got the office paint finished. I forgot what painting is like when yer old and fat LOL... Just wait fellas; yer turn is coming soon enough! ws

What good is a dual MC if the lines get necked down into that Tee? If one side gets a leak both sides will lose pressure.

Maybe run each side directly to the front and back separately with both sides having their own adjustable prop valve to dial in each side? Or 1 just for the back so the front engages before the rear? Maybe start out running the front and back separate and see how that does first?

Whatcher' seeing Derek is the L&R front lines. The MC front pot feeds into the front of the T. The Rear pot feeds the top of the T and a 1/4 pipe goes to the back T above the axle. The taped post is the differential pressure switch. The top pic is the '64 OEM single system.

Alls well (apparently) now after a 40 mile spin into the country... It was 100F out there. I dont know how the farmers did it; or the damn mules for that matter.

    Ill post pics later... ws
