It's been sitting outside under a tarp for a lotta years a.k.a. the surface rust and rust in the truck.

That VIN number is from the front of the block. I believe the gold you see is surface rust, not gold paint.

Kind of strange there's zero red paint someone needs to ask them exactly where that picture was from

What little I know about the 71’s I learned here. Isn’t paperwork necessary to document real 71 Stage 1 cars? What tells us this one is good to go? Info for future use.

The block will have a TS stamp by the dipstick with the VIN that matches the car, and the trans will have the BB or OW tag with the VIN that matches the car.

Both should be verified since there are no pics of the TS stamp or the trans VIN.

Welcome guys. I woud go after the car myself but too far away from me and logistics would be a nightmare with the current conditions. As stated he doesnt have distributor.

Your welcome. Sadly under the current situation with things is too far away for me to jump on it.

So, since the engine code is TR, not TS, it is not a Stage 1, correct? Too bad, as it's a very cool car.

No, that’s not the case. The pictures showing the TR code above were posted to indicate where to find the code.

Ahh, thanks. That was a bit confusing. Has anybody seen a pic of a TS code?

I just looked at the pictures, and assumed they had been taken of the car in question. LOL. Thanks for clarifying.

Just glancing at that picture, it looks like someone has defaced the "R" portion of a "TR", and subsequently added an "S" with a slightly smaller font...
