7:00 AM today and on my way to my daughter's riding club to help with a re-roof of the concession stand and covered picnic tables so I had my 2000 F350 7.3, crew cab, long bed. The truck is not a duelly with 35" all terrains and a 4" lift, mods, programer and runs 14.0's

Stopped by Home Depot for screws and was talking to a guy with a new Coyote Mustand that sounded very good really. He was one of those guys who really doesn't comprehend fast and thinks his Mustang is the baddest ride around with the usual horsepoopy they spew. Anyway after our discussion while he's putting his purchase in the trunk I lock my front axles and he's not paying attention. I follow him out onto the four lane and next to him at the light. There is no traffic anywhere, I open the window, look down at him and bump the throttle to jerk the truck and let him hear the turbo wistle and my 4" straight exaust. I have his attention and he's fixing to show me how fast his Stang is. I flip on the four wheel drive as I have already locked the axles so as the light goes yellow for the cross street I begin to build boost against the brakes. The light goes green and I floor it. The exhaust belches it's big black cloud the four wheel drive and lockers do their job and it launches like it's shot out of a cannon. He launches way too hard and spins the tires just like I figured he would in the heat of the moment. I put 2+ lengths on him before he back peddles for traction but I'm moving now and hit the torque converter lock up button and really pulling now. The stang is beginning to gain slowly and will run me down eventually but not on the street in these short races. He would eat me alive at the track but this is red light to red light. So the speed limit is 45 and I shut down at 50. The Stang does the flyby and gets out of it 8-10 car lengths past.

I really should not bait these guys like this but I can't help it.

Pretty much summed up every Mustang owner I've ever met.

    Nice kill.
    People always underestimate pick-ups.

it does seem that everyone who owns a V-8 mustang has that same attitude.
There are exceptions, as an old manager of mine had a 92 GT that he loved, but he new it wasn't any speed demon.

    Nice kill.

And don't feel bad about baiting these goofs. I do the same thing. I have a 2005 Chevy crew cab, long bed, 4x4 with a duramax. I've got stock-ish tires, but an Edge prorammer. On level three, I can do 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and the quarter mile in the high 14's. I've smoked out my share of V-TEC boys and the like.

The kids of today just aren't into working on their cars like in the past. When I was in high school in the 70's, we were always at somebody's garage on Saturday doing something. Now all the kids do is get new stickers and think they're fast. We have the "Fast and The Furious" series of movies to thank for that.

Neon lights, Cold air intake and fart can exhaust does not a racer make......

And stickers! Don't forget the stickers!!

And also, a body kit painted in primer or all cracked and banged up is good for at least 100hp!:bla:

I think the general rule of thumb is every sticker adds 10hp.
