When I was young, I loved the Dukes of Hazard
Too young to really understand the show, but I didn't care, I loved that car, and horn, and the jumps

I remember asking for this for Christmas, and I got it

As you can see I played with it a lot. Inside, outside, in the dirt, I took it everywhere.

After taking it apart, I sand blasted and was left with a lot fewer pits than I thought
I used some primer/filler, and after a couple coats and wet sanding the pits were filled.

    I sprayed the inside

    and the top

Using some 'chrome' paint I cleaned up the back bumper

    Same treatment for the front

    And the motor

I used some left over headlight polishing compound and got the plastic windows as clear as I could

At this point I tried to put the car together the next day
    Full 24 hrs of drying
It felt dry but in the process of handling it I put finger prints all over the roof.
I sanded them and sprayed another coat of paint.. from the same can... and this happened.

The paint just didn't seem dry
So I scrapped it off, sanded the roof again and got some automotive paint for faster drying

    Worked much better this time

And no problems putting it back together

I ordered some 1/16 scale decals and the fit pretty good
Im pretty happy with the outcome and Id like to show it off. Now my 4 year old can enjoy it for another 30 years

Looks good. Honestly who didn't want to be Bo and Luke growing up?

That is great! The big scale Ertl tin cars don't turn up often.
