NOS ... Really

    That's the problem with NOS....it is new old stock technically, but obviously stored terribly. Just an old part now.

    I have bought a couple of " NOS " parts in original boxes that I think were dealer replacements that went into the box and put on the back shelf of the dealership as well as maybe by the purchaser and were kept just in case. Stayed in their garage for a number of years, maybe changed hands and just like magic, become NOS again because of the original boxes.

    If it really is NOS, ebay has a listing category of "New-other" for such items that have issues, and that's where it belongs. In 50 years a lot of bad things can happen to good parts!

    The NOS one is on the car, the one for sale is the one replaced. The listing refers to the box. :)

    You got it Mike. One way to tell if there is any abrasion where the screw holes are and "NOS dust " from sitting on the shelf.
