During a prior search I ended up with two mismatched color seals. Does anyone have one to match either one of these? Scott 918 381 1234 These were NOS and in the original box . If one or both could find a match that would be great, Thanks.

That looks like a third color of foam. Maybe closer to the ones the cars came with originally ? I have the same ones I ordered from GM about 35 years ago. Folded in the boxes like yours. Never seen the foam inserts before though I think it is a good idea to maintain the shape.

Jim, That looks like it might match the light colored one . What do you think?

Hard to say 100% without putting them in forms side by side. The one you have on the left does not look factory to me. The foam rubber is not the correct color. (This could be due to a different factory supplier process.)

I think the one on the right is one that you obtained from me. The dark coating that the factory supplier used on the sides overlaps the top surface a bit like the one I show. Sunlight seems to change the exposed foam color on these. They get darker over time.

Another solution for the ones that you have is to lightly spray black paint on the lighter one until it matches the top surface of the one on the left.

I would say if the one on the right was from Jim and the other one Jim has a pic of are both in the same kind of boxes and the #s are the same , they could be from the same batch . Are there any corresponding #s on the date the boxes were produced ?

I would sell this one to you, but I have a concern over the match issue.

The lighter one is the one you sold me. Good eye. The dark one is NOS , it came out of an unopened box.

Ok --different supplier. I have owned maybe 50 NOS seals still in the GM factory boxes and all look like the one that I sold you and the one I just posted. But, you see new things often in the old Buick world. (However, the cars that I remember seeing with supposedly the original seals, looked something like the one I posted mixed with 40 years of dirt.)

Given this information I would try to darken the one topside foam of the one that I sent you with some light black spray paint.
