I have a date coded NOS 70 core support and it will be interesting to see what a 71 will bring.

Its an NOS 71-72 core support. The year "71" stands for the first year of the design. Buick didn't change them in 72, so it would be correct for both years.
It all depends on how crazy you want to get. The 71-72 replacements are different then the originals.

    core support

I bought a NOS core support for my 1972 Electra off Ebay for $80 and the guy bought it to an hour from my house. Just let you know what the price is between Buick models.

$1200 is ridicuously over priced, anyone who even thinks about paying this price should donate some money to charity, instead of just pissing money away:af: :blast: :spank: :Dou:

Yeah I'm mad cause I need one badly, and will never be able to at these INSANE PRICES!! :moonu: :moonu:

    Shure is purdy tho!!

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

If you check bid history on this, the buyer has zero feedback and bid with less than 3 minutes to go. No attempt was made to find reserve with a few bids, price just jumped from $600 to $1200. Can you say "shill"?

yea...that seems a little fishy-like......good observation....they might be back on ebay with a different seller ID....maybe buy it now $650...:Brow:

I think I might quit my job..and tour all the junk yards of North America...maybe even Mexico....and hunt down skylark core supports....."REX'S B/S CORE SUPPORT LTD....:Dou:

I will be tackling my core support for the first time...I plan on being a pro-core supporter after its all over..:Do No:

For $1,200 did the guy get the green rolling trash bin too? Maybe it's NOS.

    BadBrad,

I think we are missing the point on the trash bin.

That is where I may as well throw my wallet after I'd pay $1200 bucks for a darn core support, cause it would be empty after that!

My friend used to bring those from Year One at his cost of $100 bucks, brand new :Dou:

Ok, Mike go ahead and say it:grin:

Now people that used to buy those at $99 all day long think they get to charge 1,200% markup??:moonu: :moonu: :moonu:

Not from me!! Instead of trying to control/ruin the hobby, just get out. And leave your "$100,000" GS behind for some people that truly appreciate them.[IMG]

Prolly the same people who work in the Gov. spending our tax money on $500 toilet seats and such. Try WORKING for a dollar and see how much you appreciate one after that! GFYS!

I agree with you guys that $ 1200 is a sick amount for a rad support!
However,a car is truly a sum of the quality of parts it contains.
If you are doing a frame off on a rare car it deserves the best and the car will be better preserved over the long haul.I have done several frame off restorations and time is my rarest commodity,I will always buy the best part I can because I win on saving time and the car wins for being a higher quality resto when complete.
If someone wants to pay that for a rad support, great, it is a free world!
    All the best
    Rich

I very seriously doubt that that really sold for $1200.00. Others have come and gone for half that amount. My guess is that that auction was staged. I'm guess that the same part will come around again.

I agree with Matt.... Either the auction was ruse or the buyer was completely uninformed.
