I almost bought a used one just like that at a swap meet for $400 once upon a time. If it's really NOS that seems pretty reasonable to me. I would jump on it if I were still looking for one.

It fell off a truck and Jason picked it up.

    Wouldn't surprised me one bit.

Actually, it fell off said truck when the driver swerved to avoid a box that, when Jason stopped, contained all the ‘71 build paperwork.

Yes, I have been looking for a clean one/NOS one for a long time. It literally is brand new even the chrome cup is basically brand new, never mounted. Very happy with it.

Got news for y'all, that is a deal. I sent two of mine out a couple of years ago to be completely rebuilt, and have way more than $450 in them.
Cost for a used Tach + Cost to chrome the cup =Cost to rebuild and resilkscreen the Tach and Tach Face. I have like $550- $600 bucks tied up in each one.
